I know many of you are not SBC, and therefore probably support your missionaries a little bit differently.

How does your church/denomination help house missionaries while they are in states either raising their own funding or while they are home on furlough?

Does your church have a house used for missionaries in this capacity? What kind of guidelines do you have for it?

Very few ifb churches have the resources to provide a home for missionaries to use when on a year furlough. Most simply rent a house near a key supporting church.

FBC Dallas was GIVEN several houses and cars, etc, in wills and trusts. They put the upkeep and utilities of these in the church budget, then make them available at no charge to their missionaries.

We asked these missionaries to stay put for 6 months and just recuperate, acclimate to the states, etc. THEN go out to other churches or around the country visiting relatives. Most were grateful for the guidelines.
