Well you guys are somewhat talented! The biggest difference is there is much truth in Maverick's version. Whereas little truth in Galatians version.

WORSHIP THE STATE: Actually this is a Liberal stance as Big gov. can fix and support everything. Conservatives want smaller gov. and simply in a supportive role. This is one reason Bush is in trouble.

SUPPORT DICTATORS: Again this is a Liberal stance. Just look how upset they are at Bush overthrowing the Dictator Saddam and how supportive the Liberals are with the Central American Dict.

LOOSE MORALS: Wow, I cannot believe a Liberal would even bring that up! Again ABORTION but to add, euthanasia, gay marriage, removal of references to our LORD etc, etc!

Well, that's why there are differnces in opinion. However, much of mine is at least fact-based.

Not quite. Many conservatives are pro-abortion. Bush, for example, is in favor of abortion, with some exceptions. On the other hand, many liberals oppose abortion.

The fraudulent disinfranchisement of many minority voters in Florida forever put that mark on Bush's first election. I do note that many neocons have repeatedly claimed voter fraud when their candidates lost. Again, facts are more important than personal feelings.

Let's take a look at that. Bush's record:

1. Greatest new entitlement program since LBJ. (prescription drug program)

2. Greatest intrusion of federal power in to state goverment since the New Deal (No child left behind)

3. Greatest intrusion of goverment power over individuals (the "Patriot Act", wiretaps of American citizens without a warrant, arguments that Bush has the right to hold any person he choses without due process, etc.

4. Huge increase in federal employees, regulations, and spending.

This sure looks like state worship to me.

Neocons supported Saddam (Rumsfeld has been photographed grinning and embracing Saddam) Supported Slobbo Milosovic in the Balkans. Supported Allende in Chile. Supported Noriega in Panama.

That was Reagan, Daddy Bush, Sonny Bush. Those guys are Liberals?

The two currently in the White House have a longer rap sheet than most Division I football players. Bush, according to Air Force records simply walked away from his commitment. Tom Delay was dinged by the republican-dominated ethics committee several times before being indicted. Now we see a republican pedophile uncovered in congress. There's a lot more. The two most corrupt administrations in history were dominated by neocons. Do you want to see more?

Tom DeLay euthanized his own daddy. Tom is a liberal?

Bush welcomed the Log Cabin Republicans (gay) into the White House, praised them, and asked for their help. And he appointed a record number of openly gay people to positions in his administration. You think Dubya is a liberal? He's a lot more liberal than Clinton, but still hardly a classic liberal.

Parody is an art. And it takes practice and discipline. And parody is by nature unfair, but always has to have a bit of truth to work. That's why mine works, and the first one doesn't. I enjoy filk, when it's good. What have you got?

Bear in mind that some among us claim to be a "neocon" and they have absolutely no idea what that term means, nor have they read anything by Strauss or Kristol. I have seen several of them posting in this forum for a few years now.
