Most men who are really carnal are that way for a reason & its about making money, about sex & bring the big swinging (well you know) & insuring that they are perceived that way in the world. Now if you take that away, they cant orientate themselves much get motivated to do something more with their lives. Sin becomes a reality if you want to elevate yourself (and it aint all bad)

I know of a fellow who makes approx $90K a month & is not even in his 30's who does very sinful things, has made overtures to getting out but the allure is too powerful for him to do it.

I know another guy who fought his way to the top (mostly on the backs of others...stabbed many in the back to show himself ferocious in order to get and keep his corporate position). Funny he even had an affair with the top guys mistress while he is married, cause thats him. Conquest ....to this character its about being a sociopath which they, I guess like. The world is rewarding him. After being found out he only got a slap on the hand & his wife forgave him.

People who are in that trap need something drastic, some intervention to get them to change.... but what?

Just found this in Martyn Lloyd-Jones essay on Welsh Calvinist Methodists

...This was the thing that came to all of them.(meaning Methodists--Calvinist & Arminian both). They all became aware of their own personal sinfulness; they underwent conviction of sin, and it was an agonizing process. But they all experienced this terrible need of forgiveness. This became a burden to them - both parties. Then there was also a great desire for a knowledge of God - a direct knowledge of God: not to believe things about God - they had already got that - but the desire to know God. 'This is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent' (John 17:3). All this led on then to a desire for assurance of sins forgiven.
