ABC required a 6-second delay and used it to cut out two filthy lyrics by a filthy band on Sunday. I didn't know they had [duh] because the pulsating grind of the same-old-same-old sound pretty much overwhelmed words that DID air.

When is the NFL going to grow up and get some decent half-time entertainment instead of the usual filth?

Wonder who "tuned in" to watch the Stones that was not already watching the game? No one.

I did not pay any attention to the halftime show. I was too busy fellowshipping with the people at our church party.

C'mon, it's the Rolling Stones. For a Superbowl halftime show, it was practically Donnie and Marie.

My wife tells me that if I don't stop singing "Start Me Up" with my best Mick Jaggar imersonation around the house, she's going to make me sleep in the garage.

Church ran late last night and I missed most of the game. I'll be watching it this week while I'm on the treadmill. I'll be fast-forwarding through the halftime show.

Which Super Bowl (or, as my wife calls it, the Stupid Bowl) commercial did you think was the most stupid? I haven't seen the whole game yet, but Burger King had a musical (2nd commercial of the game) that I thought was one of the dumbest things I'd ever seen.

I thought the Burger King commercial was quite funny, but in a very stupid sort of way.

My favorite commercial was the FedEx commercial. THe second best was the one where the guys are all sitting on the roof pretending to do chores.

Congrats, TaterTot, that's the first time I've ever seen the words "Worship" and "Committee Meetings" used successfully in the same sentence!

Johnv, that was WAY TMI... [IMG]

    Johnv,

Between you and me and everybody who reads this thread, I thought it was hysterical. I work in a cube farm and had to work up some coughs to cover up my laughter. :D

I thought the Stones were awful. And I quite agree with Dr. Bob, and I fail to see why we excuse raunchy family hour TV shows. But the fact is, the Stones stunk up the joint something terrible. Last year, Paul McCartney showed everyone how it should be done.

I was scared to watch halftime at all this year...

I WOULD say that people have kept me abreast of recent halftime shows...

But that might not be funny...

Hey, I never said I thought it was their best performance. But awful? I'll have to take your word for it, as I'm not a concert goer.

It's football. It's the superbowl. The only difference between the NFL and WWF is that the NFL is real. I have no problem with football on during the day, but to refer to it as "family hour" programming, I beg to differ. For that, I'll stick to baseball, or at lest, college football.
Heheh!!! Let's just say that no one would have wanted a Mick Jagger wardrobe malfunction.
I think they wanted a group that was still alive. The Rolling Stones tehcnlically qualify.
