    Here's the key........

The Obama administration is lovin' it. While employment is worsening, government numbers say everything is better.

Do you support redefining the government definition of unemployed like Reagan did when he moved people in the military from "not in the workforce" to "employed"?

I support accuracy. Military people are employed. That was a step in the right direction.

    More needs to be done.

Are military personnel covered by the minimum wage law of the states in which they work? If not, the why should they be counted as if in the job market?

Trying so hard it's painful to watch.

The lack of logic and good sense in their responses illustrates their quandary.

This doesn't even take into consideration those who have not given up, are still unemployed and no longer receive unemployment benefits...or those like myself who are now underemployed making almost half of what I was making after 2 years of being unemployed.

True...and thank you for reminding us. It's another example of the inaccuracy in government reporting of unemployment numbers.

Done properly, I wouldn't be surprised if the unemployment rate actually tops 20%.

BTW...Here's praying for you own employment situation. :praying:

Thank you. Interviewing next Friday with Progressive Insurance, which is encouraging. I sent and applied with them too many times to count, and they finally set up testing for me (which I passed). The office is about 2 miles from my home, too.

According to this link - those in the Armed Forces are not counted in the labor force.

    Old System

    Not employed..... 80 = 8.0% unemployment rate
    Employed..........820
    Military.............100

    Total
    labor force........1,000 ( x 8% = 80 )

    New System
Not employed......... 80.= 8.8% unemployment rate
    Employed..............820
    Military.................100

    Total labor force.. 900 ( x 8.8% = 80 )
