While I don't condone foul language, I think people are being too hard on President Bush saying a dirty word. He just underwent a difficult G8 summit, North Korea firing rockets, Hezbollah kidnapping Israeli soldiers and firing rockets at Israeli cities, and Israel turning Lebanon into a parking lot. If I were in his shoes and had to deal with all of that, I would say a lot more than S***! I guess that would make me a bad Christian.

Not too long ago, Vice President Cheney told someone to "go F*** yourself," and I don't recall anyone on this board saying anything about that.

So, what was it about John Kerry that made you vote for him?

I didn't. I voted Constitution Party, Michael Peroutka. See, I wasn't afraid Kerry would win, like some who voted for Bush, so I was free to vote my conscience, knowing my state's electoral college votes would go for Bush anyway. So it wasn't a so-called "wasted vote," either.

The only wasted vote is a vote that isn't cast, regardless of how the two-parties-only elitists try to spin a person's vote for someone other than a Democrat or a Republican.

I am far less concerned over Bush's foul words than his foul deeds.

I'm pretty sure Bush practices that one.

What he said was vulgar, not blasphemous. This is much ado-doo about nothing.

==I voted for Bush, twice. That is a mistake I will not make again. I don't recall if Peroutka was on our ballet. In the future I am voting third party. I am tired of the republicans, and I gave up on the democrats years ago.

And by voting for someone you knew couldn't win, you voted for Kerry.

I agree that one statement from Bush is unfair-if he continues to lost his composure especially now I think he is unfit to continue service. Did Abe Lincoln ever lose himself dring the Civil War? What about FDR?

Considering how common cuss words are in society I don't think that using them can be considered "losing it".

When I worked out in the oil fields in the mid-70's it seemed like every fourth word was a cuss word.

No, she didn't vote for Kerry, I did. Now make a big deal about this!

You need to worry about who you voted for and don't concern yourself with how others voted!

Now, for the OP. What Bush said is so trivial it almost defies comment. I'm not so sure what Bush said is wrong, especially considering who he was talking about. The fact that Bush speaks his mind is one of the things I do like about him.

You know that statement just don't make any sense at all!

As far as what Bush said. You guys know I don't like the guy, but given:

    1. What the world is going through, I don't think it's as bad at it seems when he cusses.

    2. Is cussing really a bad <non-Christian> thing?

I don't mean that I want to start cussing with every other word, but really, is it a bad thing Bibicaly speaking?

    Just wondering...

I'm with Terry. Seems like Bush offered the perfect word for the situation.

I kinda thought it was funny. When was the last time you spoke without thinking and it backfired? lol.

I didn't notice anything about President Bush's composure to indicate that he'd "lost it."

To be honest, there is much about President Bush's speaking in general that bothers me.

Abraham Lincoln and FDR didn't have a tv camera in their faces at all times either. We don't have the visual record of them that we have of more modern presidents.

I'd love to hear him bold enough to say that (not the word in question but the sentiment he expressed) to the world.........
