    From Snopes.

    FULL STORY HERE

This at least shows us that more scrutiny is needed on the oft posted fear Obama posts.

Thanks for the post. I had suspected this was the case all along and that sentences were being taken out of context or misquoted. It is not surprising. There are those with no ethics or morality who will stop at nothing to promote their own cause. And, of course, there are those who will always believe these misrepresented quotes because they want to believe.

If this indeed the context (if someone has the book let us know) then I agree with Senator Obama 100%. US citizens are entitled to their constitutional rights. The Japanese internment camps must NEVER happen again.

If we allow these, the day may soon come when Christians are seen in the light and face internment themselves.

I agreee. Thanks Roger. Out of context quotes to spin and attack are tatamount to lying. Not a good witness. I have always maintained that Obama, or any politician, is fair game to criticism...but it should be criticism based on facts, not untruths or half-truths.

Here is my statement, you must have missed it the first time:

This at least shows us that more scrutiny is needed on the oft posted fear Obama posts.

All anyone has ot do is pick up the book, turn to page 261, and find out who speaks the truth.

However, my money is on Snopes.

No, continue to misrepresent what Obama said. That would be what you are advocating, right?

I have the book and will check it out when I get a few moments after work. The Snopes context is what I recall from reading it originally.

I haven't misrepresented anything. Nor have I announced that I have come to any conclusions.

My guess? You will not be believed and no one defending this kind of Obama attack will look themselves for fear of defiling themselves by picking up his book.

Just go pick it up in the bookstore and turn to page 261....or trust MP when he gets home to look at it.

I am guessing that Snopes is accurate.

If Snopes is indeed correct, it would make me wonder about the rest of the oft stated supposed quotes.

Hard to trust a list of quotes when one of them is verified as incorrect.

Then if you haven't read it, maybe you shouldn't be "quoting" it. Just an idea for you.

You mean check out a source before you quote it? Are you being silly MP?

This quote, of all the lists, has caused my greatest doubt. No politician would be foolish enough to make a blanket statement that he would stand with Muslims if it got ugly.

To say that one would stand with American citizens if their liberty was threatened then I would stand with that person and my fellow Americans.

I had not heard that quote, but heard one somewhat similar from a speech that seemed to just say he was going to stand with the wind that was blowing at the time no matter who it was.

Might be that there are a couple of controversial comments.

I don't go to bookstores, I shop online.

    Here you go:

    http://righttruth.typepad.com/right_truth/2008/02/i-will-stand-wi.html

And here's a rebuttal to the defense of BHO's above statement, found on another forum:

    http://forums.hannity.com/showthread.php?t=643211

For the record, I agree with the rebuttal - the premise of BHO's statements is faulty, even though CAIR and BHO would have us believe otherwise....

I agree with Senator Obama 100% on this one. I will stand with any group of American citizens whose freedom is threatened on the basis of their ace or nationality. Notice Sen Obama never mentioned religion.

The quote in your signature is inaccurate.

I contend that your use of ellipsis still does not reflect the true meaning of his words.

I will, even with your ellipsis, stand shoulder to shoulder with Senator Obama and Arab or Pakistani Americans, and all other Americans should anyone try to deprive them of their constitutional rights simply because of their national, ethnic, racial, or religious background. If not, we might as well throw our beloved constitution in the rubbish heap.

Since you have not read the source of the other quotes do you think it is proper to use them without researching their veracity first?
