'Moses', dead at 84

I remember him being interviewed on Irish telly a few years ago. The host was commenting on his long term marriage. This was when Ireland was preparing to vote on legalised divorce.

The host asked him - "In all those years have you never considered
divorce?"

Heston replied, "No, never. Murder maybe, but never divorce!"

Classic.

 

Ah, but he stole that line from Billy and Ruth Graham! Actors -- they speak other people's lines very well.

 

This seems like a most inappropriate time and place to say such a thing. :BangHead:

It truly saddens me to hear this news; Charlton Heston was one of the great actors whom I will miss. :tear:

 

I really don't care who said it first - I thought it was brilliant line at just the right time.

 

May God bless Charlton Heston's family and friends and many, many fans. I would rate him at the top of my list of actors that I enjoy watching.

 

He was my president.

I also loved him in Planet of the Apes....

R.I.P., Mr. Heston, sir.

 

I liked him in "Ben Hur". IMO a much better picture than "10 Commandments".

I think that I'll get out the DVD Bible narration he did several years ago and watch it tomorrow.

What I remember most about him is his use of God's name in vain in Planets of the Apes.
