At first, I thoughtthis was just something to start an arguement. But, after seeing the choices, I found out different.

    Very well put.

I predict that nearly every vote will go as such: KJVOs will vote for the KJV, and MV users will vote for the NASB.

That is to be expected, since those two versions are probably the most literal in nature. The translation philosophies are similar, its the underlying texts that differ slightly

    NASB 62% (10)

    ESV 19% (3)

    KJV 19% (3)

I think all the versions I listed are all literal. I had to go with the NASB. NET & Amplified are maybe not very accurate versions but they have good tranlator notes and alternate translation possibilities.

Thanks [IMG] I was just curious which version this board felt was the most literal. I listed just about every literal version I could think of.

Sorry Grasshoper. Should have. If anyone believe's a version is most literal and it's not on the list just post which one it is and it will be counted.

    How 'bout "Other"?

I opted for 1901 ASV as it is horrid to read but accurate to the Greek for the most part.

Kinda hard not to vote for the NASB since virtually ALL of the Bible believing world recognizes it as the most literal.

I think the ASV is very literal as well but just to hard to read the NASB is readable and the ASV isn't.

You say "virtually ALL" of the Bible believing world says the most literal translation is the NASB howcome I havnt been able to pin any non-KJV person into saying that ANY other translation let alone the NASB is the bible that God has preserved? Their final authority is themselves.

KJVBibleThumper: "I havnt been able to pin any non-KJV person ... "

Makes you wonder why you keep wrestling with them,
    you never win.

But I love to praise Jesus in 17th Century talk:

I'll say it. God preserved the NASB, and several others.

This one is the most accurate. Seriously, if the NASB is the most accurate, why isn't that the one we all use and just use the others as sort of commentaries?
