Today I tried something I have not done in a long time and that was not to use the WOTM good person test with every person as I always do. I like this approach, however it has gotten me cussed out, chewed out, and many walls have been made due to it. So what I tried to do was to use a more conversation style and just chat with people and use EVIDENCES and reason to challenge people and plead for their salvation and it worked. RC Sproul would refer to this as Classical Apologetics. Dialoguing with a Atheist/Secular Humanist whom are often impossible to reason with, and for the record do not believe the Bible or the 10 Commandments. She held a view but could not back it up with arguments, so I used a variety of evidences from a certain gospel tract geared at this which puzzled her, and then the argument that silenced her was my buddy the Wood Frog of Alaska. How can evolution or random chance explain away the miracle of this creature whom can freeze himself and come to life some months later? She had no answer for this one and was silenced. I also had a long chat with a individual whom had somewhat of a biblical foundation, but did not see any fault in Mormonism. He was much easier to reason with than a secular humanist/PostModernist. I also chatted with a polytheist female and I started of with God's love for her (as DL Moody would do) but then went into sin and she was open to conversation with me, and had no walls. Also a Christian Science man was much more responsive to my arguments for Biblical Christianity as I showed him love and kindness, and did not go into the Good person test, and he seriously was looking for answers and also started to question his Christian Science background. When I did open air preaching I did not preach "that only the elect would hear my message" as that would be divisive for my Arminian brothers, and would not leave people with hope. There are numerous cults, and other religions in Denver, and these in house Christian debates such CAL vs. Armin, Bible prophecy, and Bible Translations are not worth it in an evangelistic environment. So I think there is a place for the WOTM 10 Commandments approach, however perhaps its not best to always use the Good Person test with every single person I meet and make no attempt at evangelizing the intellect.
