Tell us about your church staff....
Currently, I am the only full time staff member. But we have part time secretarial. We are speaking with a man about coming on staff as student pastor/associate pastor.
I think this is the first poll that I got to mark EVERY choice! Wow!!
We have a staff of about 45 at our church (give or take) plus summer interns. Let me see if I can run them down (OK turns out I'm missing a bunch and I CAN'T think of who they are!:
Senior Associate Pastor
Family Life Pastor
Recovery Ministries Pastor
Workplace Ministry Pastoral Intern
Children's Ministry Assistant Director
Children's Ministry assistant
Counseling (2 women in this role plus pastors counsel and some others)
Worship Arts leader
Deaf ministry leader
Deaf ministry assistant
Special Events/Nursery Coordinator
Accounting (2 people)
Can't think of a title - a couple who provide food for breakfasts and such (we have a continental breakfast each week and special events will have a continental breakfast)
Custodian with a staff of 5 to assist him (mostly teen boys who work very part time)
4 Preschool teachers
1 other bookstore employee
BULLY for you! Thanks for having a ministry to one of the most unreached people groups on the face of the planet!:thumbs:
Thanks! God laid it on the heart of a young woman at our church to minister to the deaf about 20 years ago and our pastor helped her do it. We have our first service interpreted and then during the second service, the deaf actually have their own church service! One of our pastors will preach there (usually the Recovery Ministries Pastor) and we usually run about 30 on a Sunday, I think. We also run the Northeast Deaf Conference each year, have another weekend just for deaf and then lots of activities and such throughout the year. We have 2 staff for the deaf and a young man who's 17 who just came on as an intern for the summer who has a heart for the deaf youth.
Thank you for all YOU do for the deaf in Mexico. It's a hard ground all around the world and the deaf are such a different culture than the hearing around them. But these people need the Lord and you and many others are reaching hundreds and thousands for Him.
I have been a part of churches with more and with less staff. Wow.
I assume you are referring to paid staff.
Also, I forgot to add secretarial, so add one more to that position.
We have one full-time pastor - me.
We have one part time secretary.
We have a part-time pianist.
We have a part-time custodian.
Since we're trying to pay for a building program (and God is blessing us so that we can), I also lead the worship and the youth. We have a volunteer who does the choir (and I'm filling in for her for the summer). As soon as we're out from under our building program, I'm hoping we can bring on some more full-time staff. We'll see.
We have a secretary, an organist, a treasurer, 2 preachers/elders (haven't got a "full-time" pastor yet), and three leaders of "Foxtails", our after-school club for children. But none of these are paid, so I don't know if they count as "staff".
If you are talking paid staff we have a Pastor and a Custodian.
If you include volunteers we have.
Deacons - assisting the pastor
Me - I don't really know where I fit, I am a Deacon, but I am also a Licensed Minister. My assistance to the Pastor is more in the Preaching and Teaching area where the other Deacons assist more with things like visitation.
