Since murder is worse than lying, does that make lying less Satanic than murder?

Since abortion is worse than waterboarding, does than make torture less Satanic than abortion?

    peace to you:praying:

    It's not my question.

Why don't you figure it out.

To God, sin is sin. I am not sure Satanic is the correct word, but in the eyes of God, they are both the same, sin. Now, in reference to the political scene in modern day America, how does this stack up. Well, both Democrats and Republicans lie every time their lips move, and since abortion has gone on unabated since 1973 though a mix of both governments, they are both guilty of murder also. So, it this and other threads purpose is to distinguish one of the parties as either closer to God, or having the higher ground, sorry, but both fail miserably.

Let me address the torture issue first. Torture is wrong, however waterboarding is not. Waterboarding doesn't kill people, inflict physical harm, or inflict phsychological harm on someone. Would you then say that our government tortures our troops since they are trained by being waterboarded? I think not. If waterboarding was as bad as people say it is, we wouldn't use it.

I still haven't heard any opponents of waterboarding using the same argument about torture regarding police officers using a tazer on someone to gain compliance. Its the same principle. The only difference is a tazer uses electricity instead of water & the police are gaining cooperation instead of information. A suspect is more likely to comply when they hear the crackling of the tazer than with an officer pointing a gun at them.

As far as lying & murder goes, I agree with you that murder is definetely far worse than lying. As far as sin goes, there is no difference. Sin is sin.

Simulated drowning inflicts phsychological harm. It is torture. It is contrary to scripture.
Police use tazers to gain control over a criminal.

Prisoners being waterboarded are already in the control of someone.
Agreed. And so it is with waterboarding.

    peace to you:praying:

Those who withhold information that will save lives are equally as dangerous as those who inflict the harm. And there is no evidence that waterboarding inflicts psychological harm.

I am closing this. There is already another thread about waterboarding and even though the topic line is about something else, the subject of waterboarding is brought up again in the first post. It is unnecessary to have duplicate threads on this topic.

    http://www.baptistboard.com/showthread.php?t=59654

To answer the topic question, I will post this Scripture:

    Proverbs 6:16-19
These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:
A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,
A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.

This thread is closed. Further duplicate threads started on the topic of waterboarding will also be closed.
