Music Plans for Memorial Day

    In the USA we have Decoration Day (now called Memorial Day) for honoring the graves of the military.

    Most churches will sing some patriotic music in their worship.

    What is YOUR church doing?

    "Thank You, Lord."
    "Brethren, We Have Met to Worship"
    "Come, Now is the Time to Worship"
    "God of Our Fathers"
    "Blessed Be the Name"
    "Jesus, We Crown You with Praise"

    and our anthem is "Bring this Nation Back to God"

    Our invitation hymn is "Softly and Tenderly"

    So, we're kinda doing the Memorial Day thing, but not all of our songs are patriotic.

    It's an anthem for the choir. I don't remember the verse, but here is the chorus and the bridge:

    We are a nation who needs the Lord
    We are a people who need His word
    We are the families worth fighting for
    Once more bring this nation back to God.

    If we humble ourselves and pray
    Then He will hear our cries
    And heal our land
    And bless His people again

    If I remember, I'll bring the music home, or I'll post the verses when I'm working at the church on Tuesday.

      then after offering</font>
    • Victory in Jesus</font>
    Enjoyed having a veteran share his testimony and lead in the pledge. Mixing patriotism with worship once or twice a year blesses my heart!
