My cat just died.

    We knew it was coming and I had finally decided that if he was too sick to even walk that I'd have to take him to be put to sleep... But God knew I couldn't and took care of it for us. He curled up in a little ball like he used to... and I had only been out of the room for maybe 5 mins.

    Diane,
    I am so sorry. Three years ago, I had to take my cat to the Vet on Thanksgiving eve. He was very, very sick. It was very hard to come home that evening never to see my cat again. Our prayers are with you.

    You have my sympathy. I lost my Bear March 19th. He was a brave and gentle soul. :(

    Thank you all. We all cried... I had called a lady in the next town who does rescue to see if she knew of a place who would put him to sleep and either bill me or do it for free and after we got off the phone, I went back into the room and he was all curled up with his eyes opened but I knew... It was so sweet tho. He hadn't curled up like that since he'd gotten sick and we let Nick come and look from the door... so Dubbs looked at peace. He was just bones.......

    It's so hard to believe he's gone. We'd had him since before Nick was born and I did love him so.
    Nick has cried and wrote his uncles to tell them. He was able to talk to our daughter (his birth mother). She was with us and pregnant with Nick when we picked Dubbs out at the animal shelter.

    Thank you Bro. David. I know you kid me terribly about cats but I really appreciated you kind words. Nick is having a hard time falling asleep. I'm glad we hid Dubbs from him the last few days so he doesn't have that image in his head.

    You're all such wonderful friends!

    aw, I am so sorry. Many pets are like family, and I know this was the case for yall. But aren't we much richer for having had them for the time we did!?

    Loss of any pet is a sad time. You KNOW I dislike cats, but I can't dislike anyone's pet.

    I haven't had a pet since 1986 when my poodle named Crystal had to be put to sleep. I still miss her sometimes.

    I can sympathize with you Diane - we've had cats that have been sick and had to be put to sleep. The first group (4) were all over 15 years old - and it was like losing a member of the family.

    Diane and family, my heart goes out to you during this terrible time of loss. I know the pain you must be feeling right now is awful after having your beloved kitty for so long. I hope that once you are able, you will take in another pet that of course will never take his place, but perhaps will find a loving and caring home like I am sure you gave Dubbs.

    I am sorry for your loss Dianne. To lose a loved pet is very painful. I am still grieving for my Somali Zac or the Magnificat who did not come home in August.
