She's going to a local Catholic college and I told her to be ready to get her discernment glasses on for the class. I learned in Catholic high school that most of the Old Testament was allegory. So her first assignment? Read a book of the bible a week for 11 weeks in this order with number of chapters: Ex-40, Gen-50, Lev-27, Deut-34, Hos-14, Jer-52, 1 & 2 Kings-48, 1 & 2 Sam-55, Ps-150, and Judg-21. That is almost 500 chapters in 11 weeks!!! She asked me if she should read it in the Bible they have for school (New American Bible) or her preferred version (ESV). I told her to go ahead and read it in the ESV or the NIV. I think the NIV might be the easier one to read, though. She's already read through the Bible once but looks like she's going to be reading a lot of the Old Testament this semester!
