Please pray for Sadie and the specialist she will be seeing Friday. She has been anemic for the past couple weeks and it is getting worse. The Vet thinks it could be some cancer or blood disease. Pray for wisdom for the specialist and our family in making tough decisions. She is only 8 and her breed (Cairn) should live 12 - 15 years.

Oh wd, I'm sorry. I know God hears our prayers for our pets. My dog (15 lb black poodle) was bitten by a huge copperhead snake 2 weeks ago and nearly died. He has been sick for nearly all of the 2 weeks and had to spend the night in the hospital getting morphine, antibiotics and fluids. His leg that was bitten is sloughing off the skin and it's gross, but he's going to be fine. I prayed for him all the way to the vet and he had lost consciousness and all body functions. I know the Lord saved him.
The snake was right outside our front door. It's a miracle I wasn't bit myself. The vet said it was one of the biggest copperheads she'd ever seen. It was quite dead when she saw it.

Anyway, my point is that God cares about our animals and cares that they mean so much to us. I truly believe they are God's gift. Mine are such sweet companions.

Update: Sadie's blood has stabilized since she started prednisone, and she is now on another med as well. No cancer, but she has been diagnosed with hemolytic anemia where her immune system attacks it's own red blood cells instead of the bad stuff. No idea why she got it, she may have picked up a virus or ingested lawn chemicals, etc...but she does seem to be on the road to recovery from what we can tell from the blood work.

Thanks everyone, and I will give another update after her next blood work.

Blood work showed improvement, new medication to go along with the prednisone. Appetite is back...besides letting her out more frequently, she seems to be back to normal, praise God! Waiting for further blood work to see if this is reversible and we can ween her off the meds or if she will need them the rest of her life. Please pray we can get her off the meds!

Prednisone will give them an appetite - a big one too!! Our dog was on it and she would eat everything in sight including my dad's chair!!

I hope you can get her off the meds soon.
