Do we really need yet another thread on Narnia?

Yes, I saw it on opening night, and yes, I enjoyed it. I have posted in several other threads a full review of the film. I'm not going to do so here (people can look the review up on one of the other threads if they wish) because we need another Narnia thread like we need another hole in the head. No offense to God'sMusicGirl07.

Yes, and I loved it too.

Most of the other Narnia threads are not general in nature, at leasr from what I have seen. They are about the $$ it brings in, etc.

We are gonna have a youth retreat in MArch with a Narnia theme [IMG]

Saw it. Good entertainment. Would never preach from it as it doesn't hold a candle to the Word of God.

well, first my father said the song was outdated...then the room w/the wardrobe was too big...Peter and Aslan was portrayed badly, and the battle was overdone and choerographed very badly...however several countries were involved including NZ, Poland, Czech Republic...and over 20 animation and compositing studios were employed from all over the world too! I learned a little what it takes to make a movie nowadays at least...

Goodness, I hope no one would ever preach from it. It isnt the Word of God. I did like the portrayal of Aslan and as I am reading the other chronicles, it gets better. Of course, its allegory, and it cannot be taken as parallel to Scripture even.

It was great. Glad you liked it. I am glad you posted your delight. And I am sure you know it is not meant to be preached from.

Yup, I agree. I did use the illustration of Aslan dying in Edmund's place while witnessing last week.

Well, I am not saying that Narnia was the reason for her salvation ;) , just wanted to share the marvelous news!

No, but being relevant to her probably was helpful.

WE are still developing our Narnia retreat, but we will have Mr. Tumnus' Treats (tea and toast, of course), we will serve Turkish delight to illustrate our Bible study on Pauls writings about the flesh/spirit warring against each other, and some other things. Two of my teens read here, so i dont want to give it all away! [IMG]

    Gotta have a wardrobe...

If you have any ideas (positive ones, I am not going to debate whether or not we should have this Narnia theme) please let me know!
