World publishing has recently republished the NASB '77 in the Open Bible Expanded Edition Study Bible. This has really caught my eye since I still own a copy of it when Nelson originally released it in 1985.

Given this, I started asking myself whether I should purchase it or purchase a study bible using the latest NASB '95 text.

Which do you prefer. the '77 or '95 and can you tell me why?

NASB 95, due to its improved clarity and readability.

One thing about the original NASB I never could get used to was the practice of using the Old English when addressing God in prayer. I never could understand why a contemporary translation (the original RSV also did this)would follow such a practice.

I agree with Marathon Man. I used to have mental whiplash whenever the text reverted to Thee's and Thou's. I thoroughly enjoy the '95 version.

I didn't realize that there was a difference.

I'd say that mine is a '95, then.

I have the The New American Standard Electronic Bible Library (1995 Update). I had not realized that there was a difference since it has been a while since I have used my hard copy of the 1977 edition.
