And some of us prefer a tablet/laptop that you can still read when all power goes out and it is too dark to read a book printed on a dead tree. :D

I do use both, but my post was more toward those who want and can't afford. :)

I can buy a book once, but I pay for the phone every month. If something happens so that I could not afford it, the phone would go and I would still be able to use the book.

I use both as well, but I still like the physical book better.

I LOVE my physical Bible and I've actually picked up a few Bibles to replace it since the type is kind of small for me now but I've passed on those Bibles since I can't find anything I like as much. I have a lot of things written in it and underlined and I just prefer to be able to see that instead of looking at a digital version. HOWEVER, the digital versions are fantastic as well and it's so great to have a Bible in your back pocket at all times. :)

I bought my Kindle. If I go broke, I can still use it. :)

Not to mention that there are apps where you can read on any device that you would be able to get on the internet. So a smartphone, tablet, or computer all become Kindles. My husband doesn't have a Kindle but has over 900 books on his Kindle account which he usually reads on his laptop.

I do the same thing. I have my Kindle, but I also have a Kindle reader app on my desktop, my laptop, and my notebook. (I don't have a smart phone. I still use a dumb phone.) :D:D

And as long as you have them connected to wifi, they can sync! When I go to read a book on my phone that I've been reading on my Kindle, it asks me if I want to go to the furthest read point in that book. It's SO handy!

I can use my tablet as well, but my cheap Android phone doesn't have enough memory to download books. I just use the youversion Bible app on it.

How is the ghosting? Do you need a sheet of black paper under the page?

There is a decent Nasb made by Lockman Foundation themselves, center references, real leather, can be bought for around 50.00...

Update: wife and son got me a reference bible from Lockman. The pages are way too thin. I kept it because it was a gift...otherwise I would have returned it.

I heard that Lockman is putting out an updated NASB in 2017 with different quality levels. Anybody else hear the same?

    Update on the NASB revision:

The whole text is being reviewed with more emphasis in the Old Testament.

The primary goal is to maintain accuracy and modernize English.

As our base texts we use Biblia Hebraica Stuttgartensia (BHS) and Biblia Hebraica Quinta (BHQ) for the books available and for the NT we use NA28. We don't always agree with the editors of those texts and choose alternate or variant readings when we feel they are more accurate.

Our current estimated publication goal is to have a first release by early 2017.

That's wonderful news! Now the ESV,HCSB and NASB will look more and more like the NIV.

The Lockman Foundation themselves have a pretty decent one in real leather for about 50 bucks, even Allan reviewed it and stated that it was a steal!

I got the one referenced in post #12. I'll check with Lockman. I'd even take a used one pre-2002.
