Anybody interested in fantasy racing? While I don't care much for Yahoo's fantasy racing, I'll still set one up there. ESPN has opened up their fantasy racing, but I don't know anything about it other than that. As far as the recaps/reviews, since I've gotten positive feedback about doing them, I'll start a new thread for each one so it's easy for everybody to find it.

Hey CC, if you set up a fantasy group, let me know. I'd love to participate. There was one through ESPN a couple of years ago that several BBers joined and I enjoyed participating.

I'll be happy to set it up. Here are the 2 options that we have.

At Yahoo, the drivers are divided into 3 groups. For Groups A, B, and C, you select 1, 2, and 1 driver, respectively for a particular race. The catch is that you can only select a certain driver 9 times over the course of the season.

At ESPN, it's a Salary Cap system. You have a salary cap of $100 to spend on 5 drivers for each race.

If the decision is left up to me, I would go with ESPN's way of doing it, but if the consensus is to go with Yahoo, then I have no problem with that either. I'm becoming a bit of a fantasy junkie , so if you want to do 1 league on ESPN and 1 on Yahoo, I'm good with that, too.

Let me know what everybody thinks and once we have an idea on what everybody wants to do, I'll set it up and send out private messages with the information you need to join.

It matters not to me, I would be happy either way.

Well, Yahoo seems more southern, so....

Seriously, I can do it either way.

I've setup a league on both Yahoo and ESPN. If you want to join, let me know and I'll send you the information you need.

Bumping this so that maybe we can get some more people in the fantasy racing leagues I've got setup. Swaim, PastorSBC and I need some backmarkers in the field.

I've never played fantasy racing or fantasy anything else, well maybe fantsay Gene Autry as a kid. But I think I would like to give it a shot and I'll keep the back of the track cleaned up.

Bumped because we still have slots open for fantasy racing on both Yahoo and ESPN and a week to go before the season starts. This isn't like fantasy baseball or basketball where you have to keep up with your team everyday. You know you're going to regret not signing up for fantasy racing, so what are you waiting for? PM me and I'll send you what you need to get signed up.

In other news, the Shootout is tomorrow night. Time to go racing.

Stay tuned to the Sports Forum for my race review of the Shootout. There are some news items that merit commenting on, but I'm going to save them for the review.

BTW, Is there anybody on the BB that likes F1 racing besides me? Any lurkers want to de-lurk and talk about F1? If you're like me at all, you can't stand visiting the traditional racing boards where, for every 1 intelligent post, there are 100 posts full of profanity and/or sheer stupidity. I've considered doing something to talk about F1 racing if there's anybody who's interested in more of my ramblings. I may not know what I'm talking about, but I can promise no profanity and, hopefully, no stupidity. :)

As a bonus, the SpeedTV trio of Bob Varsha, David Hobbs and Steve Matchett are very pleasant to listen to on F1 telecasts. Hobbs is the weak link, but Matchett and Varsha more than make for him.

I'll look forward to your review of the Shootout. Looking forward to watching it too. I just saw the "incident" from practice between Busch and Stewart. Apparently they are practicing to take each other out of the Daytona 500 like they did last year.

Well the fun is already starting with Stewart and Busch battling.

I found this quote interesting from an article on Fox Sports:

So what do you think that means??

I don't know and I don't think anybody else, including Nascar, does either. Yesterday, Junior flat out said that he didn't believe Nascar when they said they were going to allow the drivers to show more emotions.

Isn't it great to see the 88 and the 20 finish 1 and 2

I hope we see that many many times this year!

Agreed. I hope we see it just like that, with the 88 leading the 20 to the finish line. :wavey:

    The Ford teams finish 12, 19, 20, 23, and 23. Sheesh.

Looks like it's gonna be a tough year for us remaining Ford fans.

I would be good with that as well. I am pulling for both drivers and I hope both do extremely well this year.

I have never understood the appeal of cheering for a make of car, instead of a driver(s).
