What would it take to have national or even worldwide revival of the things of God to take place?

We are having a revival at our church now and we Have Brother Knox preaching! He sure is a blessing. Our revival is going wonderfuly. There are obviously a great many MEN out there who are excellent preachers.

With all of these great preachers why couldn't there be a massive Finney, Sunday, Moody, or Wesley style revival today?

IMO this should be a major goal of BB Christians.

Jesus gave the vision in Mt. 28:19,20 when He commanded the believers to make disciples. When that happens revival begins and never stops.

Evangelism affects the other fellow; revival affects me.

    Leonard Ravenhill (1867-1942)

Prayer is the backbone of a revival.... Instead of substituting new ideas such as religious films or social entertainments, why not really try the God-given method for revivals: "Pray without ceasing"?

    John W. Basham

Any revitalization of faith in this country will have to start with prayer, in which we gain a sense of the living presence of God.

We are careless with the langauge we use concerning "revival".

A revival is the movement of the Spirit of God. It cannot be forced or planned. The Spirit moves where He wills.

If we will seek to do what God has commanded in His Word concerning prayer, preaching, worship, and fellowship; perhaps He will have mercy and pour out His Spirit in an extraordinary way.

Until He does, we should never weary of doing what is right and good in His sight.

An important point, revival can only take place in the heart of a Christian.

You can plan revival meetings, but the people have to respond the prompting of the Holy Spirit.

Exactly, but the problem occurs as "Christians" refuse the workings of God in their immediate lives and are usually too preoccupied of how and when God is working in other lives.

"Revive the works of Thy hands", and Phil. 1:6

Problem is people are smacking God's hands away as they live their own lives.

Now, to have a REAL revival? "Lord, let revival begin in me!!!" (not around me)

Some would consider what is going on in the underground church in China a revival.

Wonderful things are being said about the moving of the Holy Spirit in Cambodia among some missionaries I know.

Old time fundamentalist Dallas Billington said we would never see revival again in the USA because "We've got to much!"

    Something to think about.
