The fiscal year 2008 ended for the federal government on September 30. The national debt increased in one year's time by $1,017,072,000,000. That's over $1 trillion dollars in one year. Not billion, but trillion.

    Wow! Double wow!!

    9/30/08 $10,024,725,000,000
    9/30/07 $ 9,007,653,000,000

Check it out for yourself at www.treasurydirect.gov/govt/reports/pd/pd.htm.

Good thing the conservatives were in charge exercising their belief in little government and trickle down economics.

We're sure heading in the right direction when you add this figure to the 150K jobs lost last month, 750K this year.

One good thing to note, Bush can't run for another term and I don't think his alter ego will be elected...

Obama voted for this mess, and will continue to grow it.

He said it was because of the last eight years of Bush policies. You don't believe a politician?

Probably, but you are not voting for McCain (so you say).

That shows you how dumb he is, if he actually claims his vote is because of Bush.

Of course not. But some of you believe Obama when he says he will bring change. He won't. He will bring bad SCOTUS appointees that will serve for life. That should scare you.

How does the change in debt-to-gross domestic product (GDP) look since World War II?

I just figure he'll be more change then the guy who voted with Bush 90% of the time. Some is better than 10% change.

Obama voted with Bush 50% of the time, and on some of the rest he should have voted with him. Obama differed on all the wrong things because he has poor judgment.

It is pure idiocy to suggest that McCain is four more years of Bush. That is politics only without substance.
