This is very interesting and I wonder how the pro-life folks are going to react now that they've lost support.

    NBC/WSJ polls are notoriously wrong!

Since you posted the thread I will ask you as I have asked many professing Christians since 1973: How do you justify supporting a person and a party who champion unfettered abortion in their platform and celebrated this continued slaughter of the unborn at the last nominating convention?

Prejudicial language aside, I justify it because abortion isn't nearly as important as many other issues.

The slaughter of unborn children is always as important or more important than anything else. When it is not then we have lost our way.

And I do not believe the poll results one lick.

That is a pretty sorry excuse from one who professes to have experienced the Grace of God. Makes me sick at my stomach. You and CTB, two peas in a pod!

I would be interested in what you think is more important than the lives of the unborn child. Born in 1990! You could have easily been one ripped from his mothers womb! Do you ever thank your mother for allowing you to live?

How can you support black genocide?

And yet, black leaders who profess to be Christians, Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton are all for it!!! Amazing!!!

I can't imagine any professing Christian to believe that abortion is "not important".

    From this link.......
13% of abortions (approx. 170,000 per year) are performed on self-described "Born Again" or Evangelical Christians (Alan Guttmacher Institute and Physicians for Reproductive Choice, "An Overview of Abortion in the United States," 2003 and 2008)

Years ago, I attended a Baptist church one Sunday (and the only Sunday) and he said the the unborn is not a person until the Umbilical cord is cut, because the unborn has not yet breathed. ( I forgot the reference he used) :tear:

Unfortunately, Guttmacher doesn't delve in to see if they are truly believers or not. The only question is whether they are "born again" or "evangelical Christian" and I've actually heard someone say that she was born again because her grandmother was.

Yep - there are sadly some who believe that because of the "breath" passage in Scripture where Adam became a living being when God breathed into him. Unfortunately, they ignore the fact that an unborn child "breathes" but just not our air yet.

OK, you've read the article and posted the questions, "how are the pro-life folks going to react now that they've lost support?"

Well .... may I ask you what in that article made you think that the pro-life movement has lost support?

Only 1,000 people were asked any questions about it. Here's that citation from your own link:

Here are some questions that I have about those 1,000 participants.
    • Were these people chosen randomly? We don't know.
    • What was their ethnic and gender make-up? We don't know.
    • How were the questions worded? I'm always very interested in seeing that, but .... we don't know.
    • What was their policital make-up? We don't know.
    • Did the 300 cell-phone participants chosen even answer the phone? We don't know. But we will say for the sake of argument that they did.
But Paul, you do have to admit that even if this were the perfectly designed and executed poll, 540 people do NOT repesent the majority of people in the United States nor does those 540 reporting a support for abortion to remain legal mean that the pro-life movement has lost support.

But here are a couple of things you should know about abortion and pro-life states. We are not losing support.

As Time Magazine reported last week:

I'm afraid you are going to have to come up with more than 540 people's answer to a nebulous question to prove to me that the pro-life movement is losing support.

Those who support the slaughter of the unborn will always find some excuse.

IF they are in fact pro-abortion - then how could it be considered a PE?

    Facts are facts!

Paul. MP - I'm not sure where either of you actually stand. I seem to recall that MP is pro-abortion, that it's a woman's choice and no one else's; but according to this thread, Paul said it was a lesser issue, not necessarily that he's for or against it.

Would y'all set me straight and clearly state your position on this subject? And then my follow-on question is: if you support abortion on demand, what could possibly change your mind?

(Same question could be asked of myself and the other anti-abortionists; give it some reasonable thought. What evidence or materials would have to be introduced in order for you to change your mind? If you try to say nothing could change your mind, what evidence or materials are you using that has you so concretely set that no amount of evidence to the contrary could possibly ever sway you?)

My thoughts exactly. Though I cannot vouch for Paul, CTB has time and time again stated explicitly that he opposes abortion. When OR has challenged him, CTB has replied that he opposes abortion. Yet OR refuses to acknowledge that position.

To this end OR is perpetrating a smear campaign against CTB. It must stop. It isn't a Christian way of behaving.

    Maybe....

.....someone should tell these two black activists that it was a Caucasian woman [Norma Leah McCorvey] and a Caucasian Supreme Court Justice [Harry Blackmun, who wrote the courts decision] who were at the center of this eventual genocide of black babies. Who knows, this slant on the law may just rile them both up, and they could come out of their corners fighting mad!

It is unChristian to support Planned Parenthood. And so long as one supports this murderous organization then one supports abortion either directly or indirectly. Period.
