Lots of "upsets" this week. Girlsie State finally played a decent team, which they never did last year and look what happened (I know that one wasn't an upset, but they got CRUSHED). Lee Corso's confidence that BG was going to knock off my Badgers proved a little misplaced! Is ND killing Pitt really an upset? I can't believe Pitt was even ranked. Wanstedt (or however you spell it) was a lousy NFL coach. Is there any reason to believe he'll do better in college?

The most surprising upset to many (not me though) was TCU over OU. I thought the OU was a bit overrated and the Horned Toads proved me right.

Pit is overrated as well, ND did kill them. I can't wait till the Irish come to the Big House and loose to Michigan next week. GO BLUE!

I'll bet the winning teams did'nt think of thier win as an upset.

All rises or falls on coaching and qb's.

A mediocre-coached team can be strong defensively but it takes a great coach to build the cohesive offense of a perennial winner.

And a good team without a great qb can win 6-7 games in college, but with a qb the same team can win 10+.

Sadly, Oklahoma is yet to find a good qb.

Very true. Michigan has a great QB which is why they will make it back to the Rose Bowl.

It was the stupid play calls, plus Mike Hart is injured.

    Lloyd Carr has to go.

Of course, what was I thinking....you loose at home and look awful at times doing it and it can't be the other team just whipped you and out played you, there has to be excuses. Bad play calling....injuries...the coach is bad....oh I bet the refs were at fault too [IMG]

No the refs called a good game, the review thing was stupid.

Lloyd Carr has to go. He is way to conservative.

Just like Bo Schembechler. Up the middle in a cloud of dust!

Bo was a great coach, probably one of the best U of M has ever had.

Former coaches are always great....while current coaches are always bad.

I watched that game. Texas was very lucky to get out of Columbus with a win. OSU had every chance to take that game, they just couldn't get in the endzone and settled for too many FG's.

    It was a great game!

I don't think there is any way Carr is a more conservative playcaller than Schembechler. [I think Carr does call the plays, but I don't remember about Bo]. Anyway, that's an evasion. What you're really saying, I believe, is "If he loses big games get rid of him"; playcalling notwithtanding.

You are correct that game could have gone either way - one break or another. Fortunately for Texas fans, the breaks went their way! But isnt that the way of all great games? The cowboys beat a good Charger team this week - same story.

It pains me to root for Texas (love those Aggies! - but when a Texas team is taking on a foreign team, gotta go with them!!)

I think Texas and USC are a step ahead of everyone else out there right now. I also think that would make a great ROSE bowl matchup.

I went for Texas (but I go for ANY team against evil Ohio State) but did not think they were that good and could not put them in a USC category.
