    I'm certainly not saying that YOU said that. But notice how much time and how many posts are speant on the topic of homosexuality, and how little we spend on the rest (most of the homosexual discussions don't even address the specific act). Yet fornication, adultery, spousal abuse, cheating, stealing, etc, are sooooo much more prevalent in our pews. It's as though, in an attempt to cut down a tree, we miss a whole forest. I can't remember the last time I heard a pastor warn congregants not to cheat on their taxes, because it was stealing. Yet, this past tax year, I know at least ten churchgoers who not only cheated, but openly admitted to it, and gave other people advice on how to do it.

    And as far as extramarital sex, I recently made a comment on the board (now archived, I believe)that went something along the lines of "is it worse to find out that your son is gay, but is a virgin, or to find out that your son is straight, and having sex with multiple women?". At least one person said they'd prefer a the latter, in spite of the fact that fornication is expressly forbidden as an abomination.

    I didn't start this thread to discuss the merits (or lack thereof) of homosexuals. I started it to make people aware that there is a NEW AMENDMENT in the making. They can take action on it by contacting their Senators and Congressmen.

    I happen to agree with this Amendment being passed. However, if I disagreed with a proposed Amendment, I would post that too.

    Shoot! Get out of that church is right! Our pastor preaches against sin! Ugly movies, music, books, games, adultery, sex before marriage, cheating, stealing.......

    Oh... and we're SBC.

    The amendment will die a deserved death. It is hard to amend the constitution even when the change is strongly needed. Since this amendment will have the support of only the fundamentalist segment of the population, it won't become law. The fundamentalists and right wingers have proposed many other amendments and none have become law.
