You really don't belong on this board if you can't answer a post except with personal attacks.

Faith is Sovereignly Given ! -

So Faith is alloted to all those who share in the Inheritance of Christ, which is all for whom He died and rose again in behalf of !

The Idea is like that of casting Lots as Per Prov 16:33

The lot is cast into the lap; but the whole disposing thereof is of the LORD.

John Gill comments on this verse:

    Quote:
The lot is cast into the lap…
    Of a man's garment, or into his bosom, or into a hat, cap, urn, or whatsoever he has in his lap, and from whence it is taken out; which used to be done in choosing officers, civil or ecclesiastical; in dividing inheritances, and determining doubtful cases; and making up differences, and putting an end to strife and contentions, which otherwise could not be done: and this ought not to be used in trivial cases, or to gratify curiosity, or for the sake of gain, or rashly and superstitiously; but seriously and religiously, with prayer, and in faith, and with a view to the divine direction, and submission to it; for a lot has the nature of an oath, and is an appeal to the omniscient, omnipresent, and omnipotent Being; but the whole disposing thereof [is] of the Lord;
or "the judgment" F21 of it; the judgment that is to be made by it concerning persons or things; it being so directed and ordered by him as to fall upon the person it should; or to make known the thing in doubt and debate according to his will, in which all parties concerned should acquiesce. This is to be ascribed, not to blind chance and fortune, to the influence of the stars, or to any invisible created being, angel or devil, but to the Lord only; there is no such thing as chance, or events by chance; those events which seem most fortuitous or contingent are all disposed, ordered, and governed, by the sovereign will of God.
So Faith , precious Faith, cannot be something within man, but it comes from God, the LORD; And He gives it freely to all for whom He gave His Son Jesus Christ in behalf of Rom 8:32

He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? Cp 2 Pet 1:3

According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:

Yet its a Sovereign disposal Prov 16:33 ! So Peter is Teaching that Faith is given by the Sovereignty of God and in accordance with His Purpose; It is obtained as God orders and directs, by lot, which is by Sovereignty, and also similar as to how the winds blow in the Birth of the Spirit, for the winds course is controlled and directed by the sovereign will of God, and that is the source of Saving Precious Faith !

BTW True Faith is Life from the Dead

The faith as in the "the Bible."
His comments on a subject like this would be suspect for he is a hyper-Calvinist.

Repentance towards God and Faith in Jesus Christ !

    Acts 20:21

Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.

That Repentance towards God and Faith in Jesus Christ were imperatives or charges to those who had been newly born spiritually, babes in Christ, is seen by Two things from the word of Truth, First Heb 5:11-6:2

11Of whom we have many things to say, and hard to be uttered, seeing ye are dull of hearing.

12For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.

13For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.

14But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

1Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,

2Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.

The principals of the Doctrine of Christ are those things which the writer points to as milk and for babes [babes in Christ]

Those things being Repentance from dead works [See Heb 9:14] and Faith toward God, water baptism, these are milk of the word !

Now lets look at 1 Pet 2:2

2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:

This scripture indicates that the milk of the word is for newborn babes, and if that is the case, Repentance and Faith are charges for the new born in Christ, as it was for those in Acts 2:38. Those Peter charged to repent and be baptized were new spiritually born babes in Christ !

Repentance and Faith are not commands to anyone outside of Christ, newly born or recently born !

False Teaching, You teach salvation by the work or act of man. However, everyone Christ died for was Justified before God, His Resurrection is proof Rom 4:25, you deny this, you deny Christ !

Again, the act of jesus on the Cross is the grounds/basis of our justification, but is applied to us by faith in Him!

Again, thats false Teaching, Christ death actually Justified them He died for. Isa 53:11

11He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.

Christ Resurrection proves that all for whom He died, was Justified before God Rom 4:25

25Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.

You teach a false gospel , Justification by the act of man [a work], placing his faith in Christ is man's act !

It is your false teaching to define faith as a work. This is clearly denied by a simple reading of Rom.4:3,4. Faith is not a work.

Faith is a work, it is something man does, it is called believing. It is the obeying of a command of God 1 Jn 3:23

23And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.

Since you believe that one is saved by keeping a commandment of God, you may as well forget about being saved by Grace !

The above verse does not define faith; it simply gives a command.
You still deny Rom.4:3,4 which does define faith, and tells us that it is not a work. How do you account for that?

So since Jesus commended the Centurian for his "great faith" and since he said many times "your faith has made you well", he was wrong?

Faith is Believing, its Just the Noun form of the verb Believe, you believe and Teach that one is saved by an act of theirs, obedience to a command. 1 Jn 3:23

23And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.

So you are teaching a salvation by works, by keeping the Law a Commandement, that is a open repudiation against Salvation by Grace through Faith , not of works !

Stop being a tape-recorder and simply repeating the same thing over and over again. You are not convincing anyone.

Romans 4:4-5 Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.

    Deal with these Scriptures.
"To him that does no work but simply believes."
--The conclusion here is that belief or faith is not a work.

how can faith be a work that we do, as the lord Himself says ONLY thru and by faith in jesus we are saved, and that is the command of God to believe on the One that he has sent?

    yes

This question is insane, it is like asking how is believing something we do ?

When the Jailor asked what must I do to be saved Acts 16:30-31

30And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?

31And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

Paul replied Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved ! Now did Paul command him what TO DO or not ?

Now that word believe is from the root word pistis which is translated Faith 239 times in the NT !

Now, anything we do is a work. I am going to give the greek word used for work in Eph 2:9 ! It is the word ergon and means:

business, employment, that which any one is occupied

    a) that which one undertakes to do, enterprise, undertaking

    2) any product whatever, any thing accomplished by hand, art, industry, or mind

    3) an act, deed, thing done: the idea of working is emphasised in opp. to that which is less than work

Now, believing is an act, a thing done, its accomplished by the mind

So believing is a work, wheter you agree or not. If you claim to be Justified before God because you believed or placed your faith in Christ, you are saying loud and clear that you are saved by your work !

It does not matter if I am convincing anyone, the Truth still remains !

Already dealt with them on this forum, you need to look it up ! Also Paul no where says in those verses that Faith or believing is not a work ! Believing is a work !

Following orders is not (a) work???
