    http://patdollard.com/2012/09/shabazz-black-panthers-may-deploy-again-at-polling-places/

WASHINGTON – Malik Zulu Shabazz, national chairman of the New Black Panther Party, stated today in a radio interview that his controversial group may deploy at voting booths in the November presidential elections, claiming such a move is needed to ensure there is no “intimidation against our people.”

The NBPP was the focus of national attention after Eric Holder’s Department of Justice dismissed voter intimidation charges against the groups leaders related to the 2008 presidential election.

Quite a creative and misleading title on the OP.

I always copy and paste the title of the article I quote from. I do not make up a new title. Do you?

In this thread the OP title is not from the article, but from the mind of the originator. If you read the article it is not about intimidating people, but protecting people from being intimidated.

CTB-- If you're provided a link that shows Black Panthers intimidating voters, will you continue your defense of this article?

Don, I did not create the title of the OP. The title of the OP indicates that Black Panthers are going to the polls to intimidate voters. The article says the BP's are going to protect "their people" from being intimidated ... the exact opposite the creator of the thread would like us to believe.

CTB -- of course the leader of the Black Panthers is *not* going to say that they're going to be there to intimidate others; but examine his statement that they're going to protect others from being intimidated. Where's the justification that such actions are necessary? Especially in light of the fact that members of his own organization were caught doing the very things he says they're going to try to prevent? And have a history of such types of actions?

While you're correct that the title of the post doesn't quite accurately describe the article, this is an issue where any defense you provide appears to be attempting to defend the indefensible actions of others. Choose the topics you decide to respond to wisely.

My issue was the false impression the title gives ... not the issues you brought up.

Thanks for agreeing with me on the title.

And thanks for agreeing that when you jump into a thread that basically is a correct characterization of a group, taking what can be construed as an opposite view of the OP, you end up looking like you're defending that group.

IOW, the title correctly characterizes BP tactics, but carpo should have employed Shabazz's misleading terminology. Thanks for keeping us straight on that , and thanks for agreeing on the Black Panthers!

    "We will be there."

The mere presence of these hooligans will be intimidating for some voters.

There is no doubt that is their intent. There is no other reason for them to be there.

I am sure there are others who could make the same claim about Ryan's union friends in Wisconsin and about other groups.

    Do you agree?

No. If you think so however then you should provide your evidence for thinking so just as the poster of the OP has.

Intimidation of voters is what the libs do.

And there are cases where African American voters have been harassed and intimidated. So it is not just unions and it is not just Black Panthers ... but we already knew that.
