Actually that one little "segment" isn't enough to convict her on. She may very well have been looking for looters. She may have taken that basket FROM a looter.

Again, don't judge too quickly or too harshly. You weren't there, and things are not always what they may first appear to be.

Did you watch it? They were placing things in the basket. "convict"? That is for court to worry about. That is if the matter is even questioned by the NO government, which I doubt is will be. I'm just a citizin with and opinion. And a former cop.

You said yourself that it was probably what it seemed, that is the only level of proof required for a conversation. We are not a court or jury.

    "New Orleans' Finest"

Those women might be fit to change the sheets at Motel 6.

Or, if Motel 6 wouldn't take them, they'd fit right in at the penal farm.

I wonder how they were ever hired for the police department . . . ? ;)

In Australia we have had several publicised incidents of police corruption, usually in relation to drugs and the covering over of crimes. In my own state we had an incident where a magistrate was drink driving and hit and killed a cyclist and the police covered it all over and the magistrate got off the charges. A royal commision has scince been held, and fresh charges are to be laid.

Yet for many Christians, seeing this level of filthy corruption in the police force just give you more reasons not to apply to be a part of it, which is a shame because the idea of serving and protecting should be the domain of Christians.

I'm having a hard time believing that these two women were really Police Officers, surely New Orleans could have found better candidates than these two for Police duty.

I, too, believe that they could have found better candidates. But they hired these. Somebody explain it.

Will Nagin call for their prosecution?

I saw a top police leader on Fox last night. When asked by O'Reilly if they were gonna prosecute those that looted, he didn't sound as positive as I thought he would. Even when Bill said that they were on store video, he just said they would try. I would think watching them take shopping carts, not just necessities, would be pretty convincing evidence. Guess not.

If I knew how to get the transcripts like many of you do, I would post it for the source. But I am not that literate as far as computers go.

What was scary about the two officers that were taking things was that it didn't seem to be anything out of the ordinary. Just another day of shopping!

If they were taking those things with orders from above, it seems like they would have explained themselves. I mean, they acted like NO one was looting. Just browsing here and there, taking this or that. It was just disgusting!!

If this was something official there would be more than two officers there pushing around a shopping cart. These two were clearly taking things for personal use and or gain. It wouldn't supprise me if they sold what they took.

There is the big point...if they did this with the permission of Wal-Mart, or the city, all they would have had to do was explain that with a smile on their face. That would have been an easy misunderstanding to clear up. Instead they got defensive, pointed fingers of blame at the reporter, and didn't look too happy to see him. Those who are doing good are usually glad to be caught doing it. They weren't on both counts.

</font>[/QUOTE]I doubt they will sell it. It appeared they were being far too careful about the sizes they were saving from looting.

Soldiers who are caught stealing---even from the enemy---are courtmartialed and sent to Leavensworth! Fireing the "SapSuckers" and let them sleep under the I-10/I-610 Overpasses a day or two should clear things up for future "justifiers"

    God help us!
