Perhaps the folks who vote in the GOP primary will have the good sense to reject both of the establishment candidates - Perry and Hutchison.

New Poll Finds Medina Closing on Hutchison in GOP Race

    by: Rod Rice

A few months ago Debra Medina was not considered a significant contender for the Republican Gubernatorial nomination. That has changed since her inclusion into the GOP debates that were broadcast statewide. As Rod Rice reports, a new poll shows that Medina is becoming a very significant factor in the race.

The poll was conducted by Public Policy Polling and was not commissioned by any of the candidates. Dean Debnam runs the company and says that Medina is surging. If the trend continues she could end up in a run-off with Governor Rick Perry.

The news is not all good for Perry though, since support for both Medina and Hutchison totals more then he has with both conservatives and likely voters.
