A step in the right direction? Figures from the EU Commission and the UN show that the number of violent crimes per 100,000 residents in England is around 2,000 compared to just 466 in America.

    http://www.baptistboard.com/showpost.php?p=1941866&postcount=1

The figures, compiled from reports released by the European Commission and United Nations, also show:

    • The UK has the second highest overall crime rate in the EU.
    • It has a higher homicide rate than most of our western European neighbours, including France, Germany, Italy and Spain.
    • The UK has the fifth highest robbery rate in the EU.
    • It has the fourth highest burglary rate and the highest absolute number of burglaries in the EU, with double the number of offences than recorded in Germany and France.
But it is the naming of Britain as the most violent country in the EU that is most shocking. The analysis is based on the number of crimes per 100,000 residents.
In the UK, there are 2,034 offences per 100,000 people, way ahead of second-placed Austria with a rate of 1,677. source

Gun control has never reduced violent crime in Britain.

It’s four times safer to live in America than England.

So, why in the world would we want to take the direction your country took?

Jesus, Peter, John, and Paul were not "law-abiding." Neither will I be in any attempt at theft of my guns.

Yes, and they already have. According to SCOTUS, any attempt to ban ownership of guns is , in fact, unconstitutional.

It would take a Constitutional Amendment to do so.

That is not going to happen.

King Obama will do whatever he thinks he can get away with, probably try to make gun purchases a difficult and onerous task. Long waiting periods...extensive abusive background checks to the point that even traffic tickets would make owning a gun impossible. If he can't do that, he'll go after the ammunition.

He doesn't care what the states want.

Hmmm...we have gone the 'other way' as you put it; I'd scarcely classify the UK as a tyranny or dictatorship. Really not sure what point you're trying to make here?

I really don't see what preaching the Gospel has to do with ownership of guns. Again, what was your point????

What law did Jesus break? At the trial Pilate, the legal authority, found Him innocent, but yielded to the crowd's call for crucifixion.

Peter and John only broke the 'law' established by religious authorities when they had to choose between obey God or obeying man. I don't see how that applies here.

Paul had the same problem - he could not obey Rome and God when it came to preaching the gospel. He had to choose to obey God and suffer the consequences.

And these men were always respectful to the authorities.

I can't see this in the same category as disobeying gun laws.

Jesus was not being respectful to authorities just to be respectful o authorities. That is ridiculous. Jesus went, and only when He was ready, to the cross for a bigger purpose. And there were times in His ministry that he castigated the authorities and rejected their attempts.

My question is what option would 2nd Am supporters have if Gun Confiscation Legislation is passed. Would the reaction be any different then the reaction to Obama Health Care that probably had more people opposed to then 2nd Am does?

And Jesus' ministry has what exactly to do with guns?
