And NOTHING in all that says anything about someone else being able to track something in our home. Once it's out of the store and out of the package, it can't be tracked.

Most of that likt talks about rf tags being used to track inventory WHILE IT'S THE PROPERTY OF THE STORE. A store using technology to manage its own property is not big brother.

So far, this appears to be the same hype and furor when debit cards were in development. Anyone remember the furor among fundamentalist circles about a "cashless" society being the precursor to the end times? Some went so far to say that debit cards were the mark of the beast, wince we'll all be required to carry them. I don't know about anyone else, but my debit card is hardly "cashless" I have the bank statements to prove it [IMG] . The only thing "cashless" right now is my savings account

FearNot: I am not looking for reasons to hate Wal-Mart. It's the only place in my town to shop. My article was against the 'tags'.

John: It's NOT what the tags are capable of doing NOW, but what they MAY be capable of doing in the FUTURE that concerns me. Wal-Mart and others may be using these 'tags' in a pefectly legitimate way. That doesn't mean that 'Big Brother' will.

Like track your every move and alert the Wal Mart squad if you step foot in Target or Kmart.
Then they'll track you down and take you into their interrogation room and make you confess to collaborating with the enemy. It might get ugly. ;)

I Am Blessed, here's something fun for you to do. Go type the words
    Digital Angel
into your search bar and read all about it.
We have bigger things to worry about than Wal-Mart!

There is nothing that walmart can think of to do with these tags that "bigbrother" doesn't already know. We had the stealth submarines for 10 years before releasing that knowledge to the public, and the stealth bombers years and years before that. I dare say that walmart could not imagine all the possibilities that the government probably already knows. If "bigbrother" and his black helicopters wanted to track us, they can and they won't do it by a pack of razors. During the cold war spys listened to conversations in buildings by the vibration of window glass by voices. There comes a point in life where you have to stop looking over your shoulder for someone spying on you. If Walmart, the police, or the federal government want to listen to me talk to my friends about going out to eat, that is fine with me. It would just show how bored they are. Nothing in my life is interesting enough for them to plant a bug in my razors.

I just about spit out my soda! [IMG] [IMG]

Although I most certainly do care if "they" listen in, no matter that I have nothing to hide (but hey, I oppose the Patriot Act, too), you're so right about "them" having had it far before we learned of it. You can drive youself crazy about things like this, really. I mean, we can go in circles about "well, if they were going to use it for bad, they wouldn't have even told us about the technology," and "but, now that they've told us, we'll think, 'hey, they wouldn't have told us if they were going to use it for bad,' so now maybe that means they will use it for bad!" and so on. Anyone remember the battle of wits from The Princess Bride? That's what this feels like.

One cannot have a battle of wits when the opponent is unarmed [IMG]

I'm not worried about the mark of the beast. I will be gone long before that takes place. I DO believe all this technology is leading up to fulfill prophesy though.

Again, even so come quickly Lord Jesus! [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]
