The Jeep Liberty is a small, small SUV. The name is a nice coincidence though. I went to Bob Jones University, and there will never be a Jeep Bob Jones for me to drive.

What? You don't believe the Bible???

I seem to remember a little ride on a donkey (or foal of a donkey) on some palm fronds. :D

That's easy... He would use a Macintosh.

    [Macintosh Lecture]
For what it's worth, a "PC" is a "personal computer" and Apple popularized the personal computer with the Apple II family. IBM came out with their beige box a couple of years later. So Macs *are* PCs. Second, the proper shorthand for a Macintosh is "Mac" not "MAC" since it is merely a loving abbreviation for the full name -- not an acronym.[/Macintosh lecture]

Useless trivia about Jerry Falwell and Apple Computers:

Jerry Falwell suggested that the original Apple computer might have something to do with the AntiChrist since Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak priced their first Apple computer kit (the Apple I) at $666.00 to get some publicity.

Rev. G, you're right, He'd want a REAL truck for hauling lumber. I do have 4WD, tho! [IMG]

    Rev. G said:

His entire earthly ministry was spent with imperfect, recalcitrant humans -- so I think he would feel right at home with PCs.

Remember all that trouble Adam & Eve got into with that "apple"? $666 - Could it be..................SATAN?!? Then again, "PC" also stands for "politically correct." (Does Bro. Jerry own either an "Apple" or a "PC"? If so, he may actually be in league with the one-world government and not even be aware of it! Oh no!

If Jesus came today, He might not drive an automobile or use a computer - He might adopt the Amish way of life! :D

Actually, Rev. G, you are theologically correct!

Jesus will come back on a WHITE HORSE (and the saints riding horses, right behind Him! Book of Revelation) :D How much horsepower is that? [IMG]

Jesus would in no way be Amish. Keep in mind that Jesus was the Bob Vila of Biblical vehicles.

In the epistles, the apostles went out in one Accord.
In the Gospels, Jesus must have loved muscle cars, because when he went to Jerusalem, he drove out the Demons.
But the car that was used in the OT was clearly American, and yes, it was a Jeep. Moses said to proclaim Liberty throughout all the land, and to all its inhabitants.

Jesus walked most of the places he went. How much more fuel efficient can you get? [IMG]

As this thread has gone to a third page and we still have settled on the vehicle Our Lord would have driven, I am giving the six hour warning. It is now 7:48aPST/10:48aBoard Time. Either C.S. or I will close this thread No Earlier Than 1:48pPST/3:38pBoard Time.

As for the issue at hand, I can see Brother Falwell's intent on standing against the "sanctimony" of the WWJDrive'ers. Out here at least these folks are more worried about what you drive than your eternal destination (if they held such a thing really existed in the first place).

    Could Jerry be right?

C'mon guys. He said a POLITICAL statement. Quite frankly, I think it is no one's business what I drive (Pontiac Grand Prix), nor do I want the federal government intruding anymore into society than it needs.

After reading this thread I may go buy me a school bus to drive... and put a bumper sticker on there that says What Would This Christian Drive? on there. [IMG]

And, I will leave my opinions about the Republican Party [IMG] out for now.

True, it's no one's biz what I drive, but It's also no one's biz if I choose an efficient vehicle, and should not be discouraged, let alone ridiculed, by the religious leaders for doing so.
