BTW, as much as I know libs don't like to give Reagan his due, it was he who realized that we could defeat the USSR by over stretching their resources. Terrorists are throwing valuable resources against our trained guys with guns right now instead of our working moms on the 40th floor of some high rise building.

The strategy is perfect for diminishing our risks of loss and maximizing theirs.

For crying out loud ...what liberal media??

what vast left wing Greenpeace conspiracy ..that
is just same old ..same old..and excuses when things are not going your way...You have Fox news

    you have newsmax,wnd,wall street journal,weekly
standard, rush limbaugh, ann coulter, michelle malkin, right wing talk radio, and on and on

so it has to be something else..could it be
    bad policy ...bad leadership...incompetence

and I agree it is about high gas prices but it
is also about Iraq ..but back to high gas prices
and this was one of bushes major flip flop or
    hypocrisy's.

    :Gas Prices

Mr. Bush was critical of Al Gore in the 2000 campaign for being part of “the administration that's been in charge” while the “price of gasoline has gone steadily upward.” In December 1999, in the first Republican primary debate, Mr. Bush said President Clinton “must jawbone OPEC members to lower prices.”

As gas topped a record level of $50 a barrel this week, Mr. Bush has shown no propensity to personally pressure, or “jawbone,” Mideast oil producers to increase output.

A spokesman for the president reportedly said in March that Mr. Bush will not personally lobby oil cartel leaders to change their minds.

    (my comment)
That is major hypocrisy and not using the office
to its full capacity ..I just hope it is not
ulterior motive while Exxon Mobil takes in 9 billion in profits ..thats profits every 3 months.

does anybody know what the price of a barrel of
oil was on in Dec. 1999 and the price of gas?

Scott J I worked on the B2 bomber project it was
Jimmy Carter who got the ball rolling on it but
Reagoan used the B1B has a political football
and beat Carter over the head with it and won
because Carter had to be silent over the Top
Secret Skunk works project...we now have 100 B1B
and I do not if all 100 fly or operational but
imho we could of had 50 to 60 B2's ..but agreed
the same effect happened we bankrupted the USSR
it was masterful containment and policy..they just
    plain could not keep up.
