Did you hear that the Chiefs' owner is going to re-propose adding more playoff teams? I'm sure it has nothing to do with the fact that his team could win ten games and be at home for the playoffs [IMG]

I know that when you have four team divisions, you're bound to have 8 win teams get into the playoffs by winning their divisions and a 9 win team who is second in another division gets left out. But everyone has their own playoff destiny in their own hands. I personally like the fact that it's hard to get into the NFL postseason, unlike the NBA where (I believe this is actually true) half the teams get in the playoffs.

Watch what you say about my chiefs [IMG]

Actually, I think the chiefs have been proposing expanding the playoffs for sometime now. Perhaps as far back as 1997 (when they made them consistently).

This new proposal is for 7 teams in each conference, causing only the #1 seed to get a bye. As one writer noted, it would give us 6 playoff games in about 36 hours of the first weekend.

However, I, like you, enjoy that the playoffs are hard. Nothing like the NHL and NBA.

Thing is, under the new proposal, what about the team that is in the # 8 slot? They have something to gripe about. There will be no perfect system.

How many ten win teams ended up missing the playoffs after-all?
