Wasn't that photo of President Bush and Laura coming out of the church door last Sunday nice?

Great photo op, leaving St. John's Episcopal Church in Washington and shaking hands with the bishop.

St. John's is gay friendly, and its bishop has been outspoken in support of the ordained bishop in New Hampshire who is gay.

But it's Bush, whatever he does is right, and most people here don't have any problem with it.

Oh Rosell, give it a rest. If you'll do some checking you'll see that St. John's is the church the President frequents when he either has a lot to be done in the afternoon (such as appearances) or when security needs to be tightened.

Goodness knows that Jesus kept far away from sinners. Certainly never talked to prostitutes, ate in the homes of sinners or showed loved to those who were not pure.

Diane, do you figure he'd have worshipped in a temple run by homosexual priests?

I strongly disagree with the President's religious beliefs. I wish he would embrace the savior and not the savior's works. In other words, I believe he tries to act very moral, like Christianity would teach. However, his theology is off the wall. I have always said this about him.

However, he will have my vote for reasons that have nothing to do with his religious beliefs. Besides, God will put who God wants in office anyway. We will all find out soon enough.

DD... So... You can see in the President's Heart?

I *do* believe he could choose his 'Religious Observances' a bit more carefully and wisely though...

I think he would have overturned the tables of the moneychangers and driven out those who made a mockery of God's house, but George Bush is not Jesus and attends the 'church across the street' for convenience. This debate took place right after 9/11 when he also went there.

Jim, our daughter called yesterday and I didn't see your reply until right now.

None of us are Jesus, obviously. But why does Bush get an exemption from doing what is right?

Do you have any homosexuals in your church? Any fornicators? Any person committing adultery? Any liars? Any one who cheats on their taxes? How about someone who drives above the speed limit?

Ah, the old "homosexual perversion is no worse than eating one too many pork chops" argument.

    I disagree.

    Oh, good lord.

This is really over the top.

DD, post the "errors" in Bush's theology or shut up.

The rest of you bashers need to check the mirror, if you can get close enough to one with that LOG IN YOUR EYE.

    Gads. Honestly.

I'm not shocked by this, I mean after all Bush sent a letter of congratulations to the Metropolitan Community Churches, a denomination founded by homosexual activists that performs more than 6,000 same-sex "weddings" each year, on the occasion of its 35th anniversary.

George Bush’s home church in Texas is Highland Park United Methodist Church in Dallas, which welcomes impenitent homosexuals as members.
