We need a national ID card coded to our DNA and fingerprints.

Yep, next term when things are more "flexible." And part of obamacare, no doubt. It is rumored the part about the chip inserted into all of us by 2013 was not in the final bill, but HHS Secretary has unlimited power, so that remains to be seen.

And, not a rumor, but thanks to Congress, we soon will have 30,000 drones flying overhead peering into our back yards and windows. We are already molested at airports. We can be arrested and put in jail now without due process.

Don't worry, bill, it's probably on the "to do" list. Next term.

The chip will be inserted into the military first. Once the military guys are "accepting" of it, it'll start becoming common-place elsewhere (governmental agencies, for example). Don't forget: they tried to insert the Digital Angel into kids down in Florida a few years back, under the guise of "it'll help locate the kids faster if they're kidnapped."

Everything will be couched in terms of how good it is for us.

Another step towards when the military will take up arms against the people.

I wonder if such action will be implemented by Executive Order 666?

You know, some day, you're really going to have to tell us why you hate the military so much.

Did some GI steal your girlfriend or something? Or, based on what you posted in another thread, coupled with your obvious hatred of policemen, do you just have a problem with authority figures in uniforms?

There is no hate, just simply deduction from what is being seen in the country today.

Then don't you actually mean there will be an attempt to use the military by those who run our country? The way you word it, you make it sound as if the military is going to be responsible; when we both know that what you mean is that someone (or more accurately, more than just one) will attempt to use the military to seize control.

Unless you actually do think it will be the military trying to stage a coup....

Absolutely, I mean what you said. I never thought it was taken any other way. I believe that the nations leaders because of gradually integrating policy that strips away our rights and freedoms,TSA is one example HLS is another, will at some point use the military to take up arms against the people and the military will go along because of being brained washed.

Looking at the bolded wording; hopefully you can see the difference between your two posts.

Now, as for your last statement, I'll say this again: You have no experience with the military, or military members. You're envisioning a situation such as "The Siege" (Denzel Washington and Bruce Willis; interesting movie, but makes serious errors about the employment of military troops); but it's going to take an extreme situation to have any military member actually agree to deploy forces on U.S. soil. The last time martial law was declared in the U.S. was in Hawaii, just after Pearl Harbor was attacked; the situation was that they were expecting the Japanese to mount a land invasion of the islands.

Now, the one thing that was instituted that "solidified" the event, similar to Hitler taking over Germany, was the identification of a certain type of people as suspects. Hitler identified the Jews; in Hawaii, it was those of Japanese descent.

The thing you're missing, free, is that we don't have that situation in the U.S. today. Oh, they've tried to identify muslims and anyone who looks like a muslim; but then we elected a president that went the other way on that group. If you can't put a "face" on the enemy, then the people are reluctant to take up arms. Just ask the military, who you think are so brainwashed; ask Sapper Woody: We're absolutely tired of not knowing who the enemy actually is.

The people you're afraid of will have to clearly identify an enemy for them to make the step towards employing the military. Unfortunately, they're making the same mistake that we made with trying to identify Al Qaeda as a threat: it could be anyone.

The only other option is to do what Burt Ross did in 1967, when he conducted his "the Wave" experiment: identify the members, and anyone who's not a member is the enemy. And that's one of the reasons why we should continue to fight a national ID card. However, this administration has made a mistake in not establishing a national identification, a viewpoint that we're all of one community.

IN other words, the current regime holders are going to have to come up with some situation that the entire American population views as a threat; that they gain a sense of national identity because they all agree it's a threat; and that the regime holders can fan into a flame and hide behind "it's for our own safety and good that we do this."

We're not there yet. And frankly, I can't envision a situation that could be used at this point to justify it. I'm actually more concerned about it happening under a Republican president.

You call military members brainwashed. Maybe you'll understand that we think about this situation from a military standpoint: What would it take for the situation to actually happen? And then we think about it from a military standpoint some more: How do we prevent it?

Wow, this is so far from the original topic of this thread.

Yes it is, but while we have dug a hole....

I don't believe our US military will ever turn against the citizens. First of all, they are our sons, daughters, grandsons, granddaughters, nephews, nieces, husbands, wives, sisters, and brothers. They are us.

Now, that in mind, a foreign military in our land (i.e., UN) would have no problem turning against the citizens. And with the present administration doing things to destroy our sovreignty, the possible scenario....

And then there is the obama youth army.....

And to FAL: I am sorry I helped hijack your thread...... :flower:

I'll tell you why that scenario would be the next best thing to impossible: because of those sons, daughters, etc. As soon as foreign troops started trying to pull people off the streets, you'd see an uprising of rednecks and good ol' boys the likes of which have only been dreamt of in movies and books. And a LOT of those good ol' boys and rednecks are current military members. Way too many of us that grew up on John Wayne and "Red Dawn," ya know?

You been watching too many movies or reading too many comic books. The people will lie down like over fed dogs just as they are doing now as their rights and freedoms are bing stripped away.

So you're saying that if foreign troops start arresting US citizens on US soil, that you'll do what? Nothing? Log into Baptist Board and post how you were right?

Look at the difference between what FAL and Don believe will be the response to foreign troops invading the U.S.

In my personal experience people generally project an image of themselves onto the general population.

People who don't trust others are usually not trustworthy.

People who are kind usually think that all people in general are kind.

    And so on.
