An excellent piece from Peggy Noonan.

    http://online.wsj.com/article/declarations.html

What is happening is that the president is coming across more and more as a trimmer, as an operator who's not operating in good faith. This is hardening positions and leading to increased political bitterness. And it's his fault, too. As an increase in polarization is a bad thing, it's a big fault.

The caught on mike commentary to the Ruskies should be enough to tell citizens this stinkers true intentions. Again, Im reminded of Cicero's commentary on politicians....that they are not born but excreted.

As the wise old person once said, "Politicians are like diapers. Both need to be changed often, and for the same reason!"

Very good article, and quite accurate. No way I would vote to reelect him. Then again, there is no way I would vote for Mitt Romney. My guess is President Obama will win by a narrow margain.

And if BO is back for four more, it will in part be because people refuse to vote for Better because they held out for Best.

Why don't you put this in your signature? Save you the trouble of typing it every time you post.

No actually it is because of people like you that have no standards, fail to learn lessons of past elections, and would not know a liberal if it walked up and kissed you on the cheek.

Considering that I have no input or influence in the selection of the candidates - what is the vote that I can make that will keep both Obama and Romney out of office?

I see your point...because I do not agree with your opinion that my vote for the Better-than-Obama candidate who has at least a fair chance of winning ought to be wasted on the Best-in-America candidate who has absolutely no chance whatsoever, I am an immoral individual.:tear:

Lest there be any question, I'm being facetious.

You have a Constitutional right to insult those with whom you disagree with politically. It's too bad you have chosen to exercise that right as often as you have.

This is the third time I have asked you to make a case for a gap between Romney and Obama, on being a Christian, morality, honesty, abortion, gay rights, gun control, government run medical care, budget spending, taxes, foreign affairs, war and peace, and immigration. Instead of playing Sarah Burnhart, answer the question.

Arbo could do it, I could do it too, but you'll just shrug it off. There are stark differences on budget spending, foreign affairs, war and peace, immigration. For example, Obama is slashing military spending; Romney is calling for increases, $30 billion a year more than current--building up the Navy to the tune of 15 new ships per year. He would also deploy a full missile defense shield. Obama? He signaled to the Russians that he would have more freedom to deal with decreases in missile defense in Europe after the election.

Obama, despite having recently called for sanctions on Iran has basically appeased them by looking to have dialogue with them and giving Israel the cold shoulder. Romney says he would use military force if necessary against Iran, whereas Obama says "every option is on the table." Romney would deploy more carriers in the region and increase military aid to Israel.

Romney oppose the Dream Act, would deport illegal aliens and build the Fence. Obama supports the Dream Act, will not deport illegal aliens, and says the Fence is "complete", although it only covers 5% of the border. Obama's 'virtual fence' of sensors, radar, aerial drones has been scuttled.

Obama's solicitor general is arguing before the Supreme Court to save ObamaCare; Romney is promising to repeal it and defund it if he becomes President.

Obama wants to increase taxes on those making over $250,000 a year, increase capital gains taxes to regular income tax rates, and keep the death tax. Romney wants to cut taxes, lower tax rates, eliminate the capital gains tax for the middle class, and abolish the death tax.

I could continue but I want to go watch the NCAA national championship.

NCAA Championship, yes, notice your state didn't make it.

I am shrugging nothing off. First of all, you pointed out several things Obama has or might do. You give no evidence or statement of what Romney might do.

Most important, one must assume that both candidates have a minimal amount of truth within them to make any judgement. How do you draw this conclusion about Romney? I notice you said nothing in your post about abortion, gay rights, gun control, or government run health care, and Romney's record as governor of Massachusetts.

You said Romney promises to repeal Obama Care. The first two words in your sentence, Romney promises is an oxymoron. He promises to repeal something he implemented years before in Massachusetts. How can you believe a thing he says by comparing his record with his words now on abortion, gay rights, and gun control?

I guess what surprises me is that someone from a liberal state like Minnesota should recognize a liberal when he sees one, especially one that is an immoral liar.

You said Romney is calling for a increase in defense spending. I thought he was for cutting spending. Romney is not for or against anything. He is for what gets votes at the moment. My other question is, what do you know or base your judgements on when it comes to defense spending other than watching the news?

Romney has no record on immigration. I do not believe many tried to sneak into Massachusetts.

    http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politic...of-hiring-illegal-immigrants-as-lawn-keepers/

The one record Romney does have on illegal aliens is hiring them, as seen in the link above.

Yes, I am watching the NCAA game also. Better luck next time with basketball and political theory.

What would be the point? You have decided the fate of your vote, made up your mind that others who disagree with you are on a lower moral level (as evidenced by multiple posts), and are seemingly determined to count those not seeing it your way as your enemies.

Why would I want to play to your animosity?

I think you need step back and think about what effects your vote will have on your neighbor. Sometimes the lesser of the two evils is the right choice. Wasting one's vote on one for whom you know will not win an election is, in effect, a vote for the worse, and you will have had a hand in the oppression of your neighbor. Citing high standards for government is little justification for that.

Good article. Something should be said as well about the cluelessness of the electorate.
