The author is a Jewish rabbi. I don't think that qualifies as "the government."

Obviously, you know nothing about what a blessing the vaccinations against smallpox and polio were.

Christian Scientists refuse all medical care. This is their right but do you think it's prudent?

Not injecting substances into my body that may be harmful.

    http://www.flatheadbeacon.com/artic...et_first_shipment_of_swine_flu_vaccine/13396/

...The initial shipment is in the nasal spray form of the vaccine and will be given to a small segment of the target populations recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Those groups include pregnant women, people who live with or care for children younger than 6 months of age, health care workers, children between the ages of 6 months and 2 years and people from the ages of 25 through 64 with chronic health problems or comprised immune systems...

That's Montana. Looks like, in the effort to guilt-trip people into taking a vaccine, the writers of C.T.Boy's article didn't look up facts.

Wait a minute - those are the groups that are NOT recommended to get the nasal spray form of the vaccine. Other than the health care workers, the rest are NOT to get it. From the CDC website:

    from http://www.cdc.gov/h1n1flu/vaccination/nasalspray_qa.htm

I went to the doctor today for a bad rash I have. Interestingly enough, they are out of and not sure they can get any more seasonal flu vaccine. Additionally they will not give the H1N1 vaccine because they do not support it or recommend it. There are 5 doctors in that practice.

They set aside the seasonal production to increase the h1n1 production.

I think there is a mass of misinformation from somebody, won't point to the media since it could come from anywhere in the information chain.

I've heard on national news contradictions to the point I have no idea what might be the correct information.

Makes me think somethins goin on but then that would make me a radical conspiracy terrorist so let's see - what are my options? As we used to say in the navy, When in trouble when in doubt run in circles, scream and shout! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Hmmm, looks to me like they don't know what they're doing.

Is it sin to experiment with your body's immune system like this ? Is it sin to give different folks conflicting information ? C.T.Boy ? Can y'help us out here ?

Did not say they were out everwhere, only that they cut production which they did unless the news wasn't telling the truth.

I got one a week ago in a two day clinic but the second day was canceled due to no stuff - hasn't been resceduled due to no product.

CTB simply ignores stuff like this. He'll come back later and smugly remind us of how stupid us bumpkins are for not taking the shot.

You forget: you didn't take the shot...thus, you are uneducated, live in a double-wide, and probably married your brother.

Yup. And he'll tell us conservatives can't read articles with big words in them. Then he'll tell us we need to study about how Christ told us to treat others.

Swine Flue Vaccination may be bad for you!

I received this email today and I don't know if it is true or not, but it makes sense (at least to me).

I checked , http://www.snopes.com and http://www.truthorfiction.com, and neither of them have anything about this article. I did not have time to Google for it, so if anyone finds out if it is TRUE or FALSE, please let me know. I am posting it in good faith and pray you all receive it in the same spirit.

This article DOES explain why the younger generation is receiving this shot and they are dying anyway. According to this article the vaccination is KILLING them.!

This is one Granny who is NOT getting the shot!

Sorry, Bro. Mitchell. Lately, due to ongoing health problems I have not been able to check in and read as many threads as I used to. I missed the whole thing! :(

So this information is true then?

I did not say that as a criticism but as a supplement to your post. Yes it is true that it is his information.

Why Are We Afraid of the New Flu Vaccine?
    By Tara Parker-Pope

    http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/10/07/why-are-we-afraid-of-the-new-flu-vaccine/?em&apage=9
Nati Harnik/Associated Press Clayton Mathiason, 3, received the nasal spray vaccine in Omaha.

Recently, a mother I know told me that her doctor has urged her to get the new H1N1 flu shot for her two children, who both have asthma. She already gives her children the regular seasonal flu shot, but for reasons she can’t really explain, she’s nervous about the new flu vaccine.

She’s not alone. Talk shows and Internet sites are abuzz with questions and fears about getting vaccinated against the novel H1N1 virus, often called swine flu. The popular Web site Mercola.com is urging parents not to get the flu vaccine, and even the talk show host Bill Maher posted a warning about the new flu shot to his more than 50,000 followers on Twitter. A University of Michigan poll found that 60 percent of parents surveyed do not plan to vaccinate their children against H1N1.

Now, as the first doses become available, government officials are trying to combat myths and fears about the novel H1N1 flu and the vaccine that can prevent it, Donald G. McNeil Jr. of The New York Times reported on Wednesday.

Much of the fear stems from a vaccine debacle more than 30 years ago. In 1976, a swine flu vaccine was associated with Guillain-Barré syndrome (pronounced ghee-YAN bah-RAY), in which the body damages its own nerve cells, causing weakness and sometimes paralysis. The reasons are unclear. Some studies found no link. Another study suggested that one person in every one million vaccinated for seasonal flu might be at risk for Guillain-Barré.
But the problems in 1976 have nothing to do with the current vaccine, which is produced in the same fashion as the regular flu vaccine. An article in this week’s New Yorker by Michael Specter summed it up well. In it, Mr. Specter writes:

Though this H1N1 virus is novel, the vaccine is not. It was made and tested in exactly the same way that flu vaccines are always made and tested. Had this strain of flu emerged just a few months earlier, there would not have been any need for two vaccines this year; 2009 H1N1 would simply have been included as one of the components in the annual vaccine.
Meanwhile, the virus has now appeared in a hundred and ninety-one countries. It has killed almost four thousand people and infected millions of others. The risks are clear and so are the facts. But, while scientists and public-health officials have dealt effectively with the disease, they increasingly confront a different kind of contagion: the spurious alarms spread by those who would make us fear vaccines more than the illnesses they prevent.

IF this is true, why has there had to be testing for it to check on it's efficacy and safety?
