Barack Obama laughs off charges of socialism. Joe Biden scoffs at references to Marxism. Both men shrug off accusations of liberalism.

But Obama himself acknowledges that he was drawn to socialists and even Marxists as a college student. He continued to associate with Marxists later in life, even choosing to launch his political career in the living room of a self-described Marxist, William Ayers, in 1995, when Obama was 34.

Obama's affinity for Marxists began when he attended Occidental College in Los Angeles.

"To avoid being mistaken for a sellout, I chose my friends carefully," the Democratic presidential candidate wrote in his memoir, "Dreams From My Father." "The more politically active black students. The foreign students. The Chicanos. The Marxist professors and structural feminists."

How on earth can a man such as this with his affiliations be so close to becoming our next President...The deception is full force and now he will dominate the TV networks on Wednesday? He should have just waited for Halloween it would have been more appropriate. WAKE UP PEOPLE…AVOID OBAMA LIKE THE PLAGUE!

Those people were probably a lot more interesting to be around. At least they were thinking, maybe poorly, but thinking and not sitting around eating pizza and drinking beer and talking about girls or guys, and football games, or hair styles.

Haven't you ever known anyone you liked to talk to, but never agreed with. I had a good friend that I loved to talk to because he could think. However, we never agreed on anything.

Are you suggesting that the college students that are members of groups like Young Republicans, the Optimist Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, multiple religious based student unions, and other conservative type groups don't think and only party etc.?

Yes, but my actions and statements in the rest of my life make it clear that I do not embrace that person's beliefs, thoughts, philosophy, politics, or worldview. You can't make that same claim about BHO. His actions, his voting record (both as a state and federal Senator), his stated beliefs, thoughts, philosophies, politics, and worldview all line right up with those of the ultra-liberals, leftists, socialists, and Marxists he associates with and he has associated with them all his life.

Which one of you, then, was it that couldn't think?

...And "the devil laughed with delight".

He's laughing because he's hiding his college history and the media is helping him do it.

I just wish most of you here had felt the same way about George Bush. He has destroyed our economy and our standing in the world. We have no allies. Why? Because the Neo-Con Fascists wanted to rule the world.

I find the opponents of Marxism, communism, socialism, etc. to be much more engaged in protecting America from such flawed philosophies and failed attempts.

Maybe they just seemed more interesting when Obama was high on cocaine. Maybe they were "doing a little blow" with Obama as well. I wonder if these people were his connection to getting his cocaine? Maybe he was their connection to getting cocaine?

No one knows...because no one will ask Obama about his cocaine use!!

But don't worry, it's just the presidency of the United States of America. So what if Obama "did a little blow" while hanging out with the radicals and socialists and marxists?

    peace to you:praying:

It seems you've lumped all objections into one neat little box outside which the only acceptable banner is "Change". But, never the less, Obama is a socialist by his own words both past and present. They sound so sweet to those who want this type society. To them he is an American Uncle Ho who will save them. Sure enough his past deeds give great insight into his plans if he were to be made President. His associations - even the more recent ones - likewise give cause for concern. His list of legislation introduced or supported in Congress show what he's all about.

If your interested in socialism, Just look at the present administration, First they give the banks a lot of tax payers money, then today President Bush tells the banks "Start lending now" When the government becomes involved in private businesses financially and then tells them how to operate. Bush is the one opening the door to a socialist government!!!

Why is that when indisputable facts are presented against BHO the response is always some kind of off topic jab at President Bush? If you want to talk about President Bush just go start a new thread on whatever issue you wish to discuss. Why drag this thread (or any other) off topic?

I completely disagree with the bailout plan whether it came from Congress which wrote the bill, from the President who pushed for it, or both who worked together to get it. I don't care whether they were Democrats or Republicans. To me it was a step towards socialism and one I dislike very much. But the roots of it go much futher back than President Bush and started with the New Deal thinking. The fault can't be hung on one man who's in office today.

The subject here is Obama who wants to be the next President. That's something we still have an opportunity to prevent if we care enough to do so. Which one of the two major candidates - Obama or McCain - would take us farther and faster towards socialism? Forget Bush because he isn't a candidate and what he's done or hasn't done can't be changed. What Obama or McCain would do is the issue here! We can have an effect by how clearly we see through the political charm and make the best choice from what's on the plate.
