This tread could be placed a number of places, so I chose politics. This particular article speaks to the passing of leadership from one generation to another in politics and civil rights ... it can easily be seen as also applying to a new generation arising in any area. The one that came to my mind was the grumbling of the old guard of evangelistic leaders with the new rising generation of young evangelistic leaders. Of course, this has been happening as long as history has been recorded and we can be fairly sure it happened in pre-historic times also.

As he stacks his team with ex-Clintonites......

Hogwash, CTB. Nothing new, here. Clinton's third term, coming up.

Exactly - been saying here for months that this chap is just another liberal, mainstream Democrat.

No answers, no solutions, plenty of rhetoric.

I believe all of you missed the point entirely. Take you political hat off, re-read the article with a view of the changing generation of African American leaders.

The article has noting to do with Clinton, Bush, or G. Washington. It is about one generation replacing an older generation.

If Obama is the best that "African-Americans" have to look up to then I don't hold out much hope for their future.

Let us not forget that Stalin and Hitler were considered "new generation" at one time....

Yes, I wonder what they are saying about him behind closed doors. Time will tell.

So yer telling me we've never had blacks in positions of authority, in recent administrsations ?

I think this is more zero worship, and nothing more.

No, the article is not talking about government positions. Re-read it and try again.

No thanx, it's obvious that you were the only one to get the real message of the article, the rest of us are dumb.
