This is exactly why---if I were President of the United States----I would stay away from being "guest" on such Hollywood shows----if Obama "pops off" like he did on Leno's show----whos going to take him serious in his State of the Union address??

IMO Obam is lacking in the personal maturity necessary to be President.

He is too tied up into being hip.

The swagger, the "I'm to cool for words" attitude...

It all makes him look like a light weight.

Not something that you want a guy like Putin to think about the leader of the US.

(I would have said the leader of the free world - but I don't think that Obama would accept that description. No doubt he would think that for the US to consider itself to be the leader of the free world would be arrogance - and that wouldn't be cool.)

I am offended at the so called phrase of "African American" or any (fill-in-the-blank) - American. Do my feelings carry any weight?
If I corrected you after you used that phrase (as I normally do) would you apologize to me?

I tend to agree with Just-want-peace. Not totally, but at least we are in the same ball park.

Let me take this one step further. I still use the term "mentally retarded" I have been told that is insensitive. I do not use in a derogatory manner, but in its proper definition as intended. So am I wrong or is insensitivity in the eye of the beholder?

If so, then where does it all end. Makes me think of the Johnny Cash song, "A Boy Named Sue"

    Apples and oranges.

Well, let's try it your way then...

But the president quipped, "It was like I'm metally retarded or something."

What what do you and Just-want-peace think?

Is insensitivity in the eye of the beholder - always?

Or are some remarks more insensitive than others?

Obama's remark on Leno was insensitive.

    Stop making excuses for him.
