By the way, I make a lot less than $100,000 a year--a LOT less--and Obama's programs will raise my taxes by $5,000 a year!

 

Memphis (District 1). It's probably the only district someone as vitriolic as he could get elected. The district used to belong to the Ford family, which is sorta the Kennedy family of Tennessee. They haven't met an ethics charge or white collar crime they never liked.

He became a state-wide name in TN by being the man responsible for the Lottery getting on the ballot and approved. Ethical questions about abuses of power to do so, illegal meetings with lottery machine makers, sweetheart deals for cronies, etc., still abound. He ran for and won the seat vacated by Harold Ford, Jr's unsuccessful run for Senate two years ago (embroiled in his own family's legendary run ins with ethics and legal issues). He also got national attention this year when a primary foe (African American) brought up the KKK against the caucasian Cohen.

I'll put it this way. My home is 400 miles from Cohen's district. I thank God for every one of them :thumbs:

I unfortunately live in Cohen's district. What business does a Jewish congressman have in invoking a comparison to Jesus?

But that's Memphis. Kim Jong Il could be elected here if he ran as a Democrat.
