Nope. I work for SEBTS (a Southern Baptist Seminary) and I can honestly say I do not know a single person on staff who would even think that way much less saying something like what you imply. The barbershop I use is owned by and filled with liberal Dems so it's not going to happen there. Finally, I don't play poker or hang out with people who do so while drinking.

I am not saying I am so nieve as to think it does not take place. It just does not take place in my sphere of influence.

Aren't you the one always harping about not derailing a thread?

Not fair, he was on topic to justify the historical basis for his view.

You have him tagged, dragonfly. However, some people have a bad habit of holding other people to a tougher standard than they apply to themselves.

Nope. It is that when we are discussing a suggested policy of BHO and some of us are pointing out the error there, it has nothing to do with John Kerry, a previous election, a bad Bush Administration policy, or John McCain's being on the USS Forrestal for example.

However, in the case here you brought up the issue of having former slaves in one's ancestry. You assumed, incorrectly, that us white conservatives would not be able to respond. However, two of us provided you with our family history that disproved your line of argument and now you don't want to talk about it. Like I said that is fine now that we have established your motives let's go back to the subject of the OP.

I assumed no such thing. The OP was about African-Americans, not European-Americans.

I had no idea that you would go off topic in this thread.

Yes he has, just like you often do. Bible-Boy is just not consistent in his insistence that the rules be followed, in my opinion.

Look, you posted the above quote in post number 4 of this thread. I simply responded to it with my own family history. The quoted material says nothing about African American slaves vs European American slaves.

My Scottish ancestors were slaves in the United States and I am not among that third. You can't blame me for introducing off-topic subject matter when you were the first to introduce the issue. I simply responded to your nonsense and proved your assertion invalid. Now can we please get back on topic?

Pssst... Ken.... Why can't we go with American's are American's no matter where your ancestors come from? We all have equal stake in this pie so why should we differentiate?

This also doesn't change the fact that some American's won't vote for Obama because of his race just as some American's will vote for him because of his race. He knows that so Obama comment was correct. No, no one I holding up a sign that say "don't vote for the black man" or "vote for me or you might get that N word." Instead, those few remaining American's have learned to be masterful with how they play the race cards. I believe we all know this...

Perhaps addressing these quotes from BHO will help us get back on topic...

    That's not likely to happen.

Obama's political history tells us he is all about race and little else.

John McCain can be summed up in one word: warmonger.

    Period.

Ken, please stay on topic, which is Obama, not McCain. Any further derailing attempts may end up being deleted without warning. Thanks. LE

My, my, the McCain supporters are getting rather testy. That's alright. I understand. :)

Off topic stuff is posted in threads all the time in this forum. Why are you jumping on me about it all of a sudden?

This is called blaming the victim. It happens a lot in rape cases. If he came out more strongly in favor of racial issues would you vote for him? It seems as if his black supporters already plan to vote for him so I don't see the problem.
