Seems a shame to me that I will not be here to see all this played out over the next twenty years. Oh well ......

The GOP has an option that was not mentioned, but it comes from Bob Woodward:

Appearing on the syndicated Chris Matthews Show, Woodward said, "We'll see if the White House is going to realize it's much better to have a Speaker Boehner with that mindset than somebody from the Tea Party or the more extreme right which would just lay down and, you know, let the country burn."

A lot of people realize how short-sighted and how expensive the Democrats policies are. However, the Democrats under Mormon Harry Reid just don't want to cooperate and the House alone really cannot stop very much.

I think that the GOP should let them have their way until the elections of 2014 and I think that the GOP should be quiet and just vote "No" on everything.

How is the moribund economy going to help the Democrats?

I expect Obama and the Democrats are aware of this. It is up to the GOP to select who is the Majority Leader in the House and so far they are keeping Boehner.

That is exactly what the GOP decided to do when Obama was elected and before he took office. They said priority number one was to not agree with Obama on anything and this would make him a one-term president. It didn't work out that way. The American public saw this and that is, IMHO, one reason the GOP lost the national election. If they continue this policy, as you suggest, it will cost them the national election in 2016 and possibly they will not be the majority party in the House. Time will tell.

It will help the Democrats as the Republicans are already perceived as the party that brought on the 2008 recession and they are also perceived as the obstructionist party. The GOP must do something to change these perceptions or they will garner larger and larger defeats at forthcoming elections.

The GOP dug a deep hole and instead of the Democrats falling into it, they themselves now find they are in that hole. It will not be easy to climb out. They can do it, but it will be hard.

The hen laid an egg and the Bantam Rooster crowed.

And the official unemployment rate increases to 7.9 %. The real unemployment rate is about 24 million people wuth millions more on welfare and food stamps, sorry, a government issued credit card..

With all its faults the United States is the greatest nation the world has known. It is likely that this nation in the few short years of its existence has done more good than any nation in history. It is likely that more Christian missionaries have gone forth from this country than any nation in history. It is likely that, for these very reasons, from a human perspective this country is being led down the road to destruction.

The leaders, a disciple of Karl Marx called Barak Hussein Obama and the leftist ideologues in Congress and Wall Street. Sadly "Christians" like CTB, avid supporters of Barak Hussein Obama, can read leftist trash from the Daily Beast and then crow on this Christian Forum.

But then there is another story. Scripture tells us often of the judgment of God on certain peoples/nations. There is currently a discussion underway on the judgment of God on Sodom and Gomorrah, some even questioning the reason for that judgment. Consider the following that God has revealed through the Prophet Isaiah:

Are Obama and his leftist cohorts a fly sent by God to punish a nation slouching toward Sodom and Gomorrah. Are Obama and his leftist cohorts a fly sent by God to punish a nation that has slaughtered 55 million unborn children.

Only God know but we had a visit from a fly on 9/11/01. Only God knows but there are some living today who may experience a hoard of flies. CTB longs to be one of those.

It is a great mystery to me whether you simply have no understanding what the OP is about or if you are simply trying to derail the thread. Or is it this is simply a soap-box you cannot get off of to reply rationally?

My guess is you have never read Karl Marx. You certainly seem to have no understanding of his philosophy.

Your reply should be removed as it has nothing to do with the subject.

Woodward is just as concerned about the survival of the Republican Party as CTB and just as free with his stupid advice.

Harry Reid has the same mindset as Obama. He is perfectly willing to let the country go down the drain as long as he keeps his power.

The Republicans must put forth good programs as the House has been doing for the last two years.

You must remember that the leftist democrats were able to ride "Hoooooover Times" for 70 years. Even Gore tried in 2000. The leftist democrats are still blaming Bush for every bad thing that has happened since January 20, 2001. Lady Pelosi even blamed the negative growth of the last quarter on the Republican House. I am sure the increase in unemployment will be blamed on Bush and the Republicans.

One thing that people must keep in mind when considering the politics of today. Most people still get their news from the leftist media. And they all excel in the art of lying!

This is out of context but it dealt with the notion that the GOP should just vote "no" and let Barry Soweto have his way.

Part of the problem was with Mitt Romney and his Mormonism. A lot of people did not want a Mormon in the Oval Office. Personally, I decided that Romney was really cordial and really economically capable, and I admit that I voted for him. However, it seemed as if it took him too long to think things out. In the last debate, he let Soweto off the hook. Then when Hurricane Sandy hit, he suspended his campaign but the Democrats kept going.

I was for Gov. Perry and I ended up voting for Santorum in the primary, but by May when Indiana voted, it didn't matter and Perry was not on the Indiana ballot. The Mormon bloc just didn't show any real political power.

The truth is Crabbie that you are a leftist and you have the same goals for the country as all the other leftists in the country. Even though a "Christian" you will not find fault with their policies: from creating a welfare mentality that is bankrupting the country, embracing and pushing homosexual marriage, and celebrating the continuation of the slaughter of ~4000 unborn children each day.

Just in case you cannot remember the title of this thread is
    .
I want you to understand that what I write I believe. The OP is a piece of trash talk from a leftist web site. The OP by its nature invites discussion of the future of the nation. If you don't like my remarks that is tough. We still live in a free country though if it remains in the hands of people who believe like you that will probably not last long. There are already efforts by Obama to indoctrinate some of the media on the merits of Obamacare and the left has for years been making assaults on the free exercise of religion.

As long as I live Crabbie I am going to speak out against those who are deliberately destroying this Constitutional Republic, I am going to speak out against the horror of the slaughter of the unborn, I am going to speak out against those who support the horror of the slaughter of the unborn. And "if the shoe fits then wear it" but don't habitually whine about my posts.

I believe that the following Scripture encapsulates clearly the philosophy of the leftist movement in this country, a movement that has taken control of the democrat party.

    Proverbs 6:16-19
    16. These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:
    17. A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
    18. An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,
    19. A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.

I agree, being a Mormon was one problem. I do feel there were many other problems. But that is another topic.

Some say the GOP has presented ideas. In a general sense I disagree and when they did present ideas and Obama expressed interest they, the GOP, suddenly did not think the idea was a good one.

A prime example was when Mitch McConnell filibustered his own proposal that he had just presented and the Democrats accepted.

We need two viable political parties. History has shown that a country with one party in power too long is a bad thing. Look at the history of Mexico under the PRI party.

The Tea Party and the far right wing are, IMHO, killing the GOP. A party that moves too far either left or right of the views held by voters will not win in the long run.

That is nonsense! As long as there are enough people living on the government dole they will even vote a Marxist, who never held a job, into office as we saw last November.

Mexico under the PRI had a rule that the party in power counted the votes on election day. The US might go to a small GOP as they did during the Great Depression, but I would think that would make the Dems happy. As for the Tea Party, they are just a lot of nice people concerned about economic issues, while Christians are concerned about social issues as well.

Many say that with Obama we are dealing with a cult of personality, like Hugo Chavez, for example. The Democrats have no idea what needs to be done to make things better. They are going to blame Bush until the end of their lives, just as their parents blamed Hoover forever. Most Dems are saying racist to everyone who opposes them. It makes one wonder how we will muddle through.

Indiana lost a Senate seat to the Dems after dumping RINO Richard Lugar when GOP State Treasurer Richard Mourdock popped off. Two years before we put GOP moderate Dan Coats back in the Senate.

Obviously a large number of voting "Christians" are not concerned about social issues since by their votes they support homosexual marriage and the continued and unabated slaughter of unborn children.

You are so right. We muddled for about 8 years through the Roosevelt depression until he got us involved in WWII. Won't work this time because there are too many with nuclear weapons.

Mourdock made a stupid remark and was punished at the polls. A democrat apparently can do or say anything and still get the votes of the serfs! Look how many times they put the pervert Barney Franks back in the House.

    Thank god for reactionaries

Thank God for reactionaries. They have been fighting the communist movement in this country at least since Franklin and Eleanor and Alger Hiss, through McCarthy [Eugene] and McGovern, and currently the likes of Barak Hussein Obama who dominates the democrat party.

Note: opprobriously means "expressing scorn, disgrace, or contempt" and the democrats are expert at this when talking about Patriotic Americans!
