Obama Road Show not selling to the Troops

    20 Jul

Posted by Macranger as 2008 Election, Barack Obama, News, Politics

One good thing about this blog is that it is widely read by military types especially overseas in the war zones. In fact the “Obama wants to Disarm America” video has gotten nearly 35,000 page views from military types alone.

As you know Obama visited troops this weekend in Kuwait, and Afghanistan. Prior to this weekend I, along with a few friends had been sending information to a few soldiers on an email list referencing Obama and his anti-military entourage and exhorting them not to be “deceived” by his “jive”. From what I’m getting back they were not in the least.

    SNIP

That’s what talking about defeat for the last two years will do for you. He’s not fooling anyone, especially where the rubber meets the road.

Cherry picked and closely cropped photo ops by the media.

Obama is their newest darling and they will help any way they can.

Vets’ Ad: ‘Finish the Job’ in Iraq
    By Michael Falcone

The advocacy group, Vets for Freedom, is hitting the airwaves with a new television commercial today, part of its $1.5 million general election advertising and grassroots push touting the Bush administration’s Iraq policy.

The 30-second spot, entitled “Some in Washington,” features several Iraq and Afghanistan veterans who say that the troop buildup in Iraq has succeeded, with quotes to the contrary from Democratic Senators Barack Obama and Harry Reid, the majority leader, and Chuck Hagel, a Republican, flashing in the background.

“Some in Washington told us the war was lost. Others said the surge would fail. But while they aregued, we continued to fight,” the veterans say. “Today, even the harshest critics agree, the surge worked.”

The ad concludes: “We need to finish the job, no matter who is president

    Thankyou for this video

I commend our troops and military for there kindness in a positive welcome to this Bi-partisan group. Obama and this is my first impression does look C.O.C. and Presidential.

Dragonfly check out Obama/Hagel in Iraq today with Petraeus
I would like to thank Gen Petraeus in Iraq, for his warm welcome and making this group feel comfortable in the order of getting some hard work done.

    Thanks!

I think the link I posted shows that not all of the troops are against Obama, which is what this thread was designed to show.

Don't sweat it you guys Obama isn't going to end any wars or anything he's just going to shuffle the deck some that's all. Theres way to much money to made on prolonged foreign wars and a domestic security "emergency" state. Obama would have to be more than POTUS to interupt that flow of cash he'd have to be Superman too.

Just part of the far right's efforts to keep Bush off the bottom as the worst president ever.

Wonder if this is more of those Pentagon "message force multipliers" in action.

    That's the funny part.

He will make no effort to do what he was nominated to do, even if elected.

Just goes to show what goes around comes around eh?

Now all the conservatives that got neo-conned by Bush can sit back and watch the liberals get neo-conned by Obama. Don't know if that's funny or not but at least conservatives can now say we aren't the only ones who can be so easily hoodwinked by false and designing men.

"Since the change of the political party in charge has not made a difference, who’s really in charge? If the particular party in power makes little difference, whose policy is it that permits expanded government programs, increased spending, huge deficits, nation building and the pervasive invasion of our privacy, with fewer Fourth Amendment protections than ever before?" Ron Paul
