Nope. I said please feel free to start another thread on that subject, but you seem to have deleted that part of my post from your quote of me. All I'm asking is for you to just please stop trying to derail this thread by driving it off topic. I like for the threads I debate in to stay on topic per the BB posting rules.

I wonder if Obama will try to block this one, too?

Vets ad criticizes Obama on surge
By MIKE ALLEN | 8/26/08 10:25 AM EST Text Size:

DENVER — The conservative group Vets for Freedom is launching a $1.1 million ad buy during the Democratic National Convention, using video of Iraq war veterans to take Barack Obama to task for not giving the surge policy sufficient credit for improvement in battleground conditions.

The 30-second spot, called “I Am the Surge,” features three Iraq war veterans — Gabriel Herrera, David Thul and Travis Quinlan — who served in the surge of U.S. military forces into Iraq.

The ad will run in Denver and Minnesota during the conventions, and for the next four weeks in the swing states of Ohio, Michigan, Virginia and Colorado.

    SNIP

“Sen. Obama has said that he would still oppose the surge if given another opportunity and has pointed to every outside factor but the surge to explain improvements in Iraq.

None of the above. My husband was in the military and I was raising two kids. Neither action seems radical to me.

He made a generalization that won't hold up and now he's quiet about it.

He hasn't told me which made me a radical either...going to high school or going to Vietnam.

I don't expect he will get the egg off his face for a while yet.

I was born in Dec. 69.. The only radical thing I did in the 60s was fill my diaper!

BTW, welcome to the Obama controlled media.

    This is getting scarier daily...

It is interesting that none of Obama's supporters, not even Ken whom I specifically asked, will address the propriety of using the DOJ to try to silence dissenters. In these United States of America, isn't that a major problem? Do we want (another?) president who uses the DOJ as his personal political tool? Obama didn't even wait to get elected to start doing it.

Doesn't this automatically disqualify the man from office?

    ...and they won't

Obama's attempts to squash free speech raises two huge questions...

    Why? What's he hiding?

And who does he have on his payroll that can get this done?

I haven't seen the advertisement so I don't know if contacting the DOJ is appropriate or not. I am not going to comment on something I haven't seen.

So that is how you decide whom to vote for in important elections, carpro?

    That's sad, quite sad.

Ken, you mean that you cannot believe a newspaper report from a reputable source? If not, you have more wool over your eyes than I thought.

Just google it, the ads (two different ones in fact) are all over the Internet.

I will try to find them when I have some time. Between work and watching the convention and posting here I haven't had time to Google.

If someone could provide the links to the videos I would be appreciative. :)

    1. I am not lying. I have not seen the video(s).

    2. I am not doubting that the Obama campaign contacted the DOJ.

    3. I do not feel at all obligated to respond to every attack thread against Senator Obama in this forum, especially since it seems like they comprise 90% of the threads in this forum.

No, this is not questioning the service of a veteran, and I never said a word in support of the swifties. This is bringing up a buddy of Obama that is actually a terrorist. He can't fight back, and Fox News is who Hannity, Limbaugh, & O'Reilly broadcast under, so you can't really say they haven't mentioned it yet, can you ?

Just admit it, it's an ouchie that you'd rather not have to deal with.

Okay. I found the video at the website of the organization behind it: American Issues Project.

The ad doesn't bother me. It is rehashing old news.

The controversy is over the legal structure of American Issues Project and whether it can legally engage in this activity. Personally, I don't like the campaign finance laws(especially the McCain-Feingold law). I think people ought to be able to contribute as much money as they want as long as there is full disclosure of it.

As far as contacting the DOJ I have no problem with that either. If this group has broken the law then it needs to be called on the carpet for doing so. I think that the campaign finance laws are stupid but unless they are changed they must be obeyed. Everyone needs to play by the same rules.

What do you mean, you are not going to let people tell the truth about your candidate?

There is also another ad that Obama is trying to block. It shows him saying he is going to take care of third world countries (or something to that effect) when he doesn't even take care of his own family. In this case, it is his brother and he is desitute.

Surely Obama knew when he ran for President, his life would be an open book. You can't hide the truth for long...

I have an idea, we can make a list of all the things we know to be true about BHO (with evidence and sources) and you can "fight back" by providing evidence and sources that would disprove our claims.

Oh wait, that is what we are already doing here in the Politics Forum. Nevermind.... Please continue.
