And this means what? It is a non-issue. The issue is "have NOTHING to do with the unfruitful works of darkness". Do you reject this instruction from our Lord?

    "Nothing" includes "Everything" .

You say you have not murdered any babies. You say you have not told anyone to murder any babies. You say you don't want anyone to murder any babies. These are honorable things. But it does not include the FULL picture as to why these murders are allowed and continue to this day.

There is a Supreme Court which is appointed by the Presidents. The Presidents are appointed by the People. The people have a choice to let the slaughter continue and vote for the candidate who supports the murder or to vote against those candidates. The then appointed President has the power to appoint judges who understand the right to life or appoint judges who don't.

Our responsibility does not stop at the act itself. No, no. We have a part in this because We the People get to cast our support to those who either would stop it or would allow it to happen.

Pilate could have stopped it and he too thought "I will just wash my hands of this" afterall Pilate did not carry out the actual killing himself. Saul also could have jumped up and said "I vote no, do not stone Stephen for he is innocent" but he chose to watch and even consented in his heart.

You have justified yourself in your own heart, saying you oppose abortion, saying you do not support it. But here is what you choose to ignore, voting IS supporting.

Then you will play the "it is only one issue" card. Yes it is just one issue, yet it is included just the same. You like Obama's free stuff plans, great, but rest assured you are getting his murder on demand plan as well. You know the full package you are getting.

Are you prepared to explain to your Lord at the JSOC when all deeds while done in the body will be exposed just why stuff was more important than babies? Or how bringing our armies home and letting the world be slaughtered by dictators and terrorist, protecting our comfortable life in the USA, was more important than babies being slaughtered in the wombs?

Give me ONE issue that can possibly be of a greater concern to God than hands that shed innocent blood. Give me some scripture. I have been waiting for months and no one has ever went to their bibles and said here it is!

It boils down to "I" what "I" feel or want verses what "God" feels or wants.

"Have NOTHING to do with the unfruitful works of darkness"

Your vote is SOMETHING you will do. What will you use it for? Light or Darkness?

    God Bless!

Ah, that wasn't me speaking Ken. That was the word of God (James 2). Tell Him "sorry, you will not show anyone your faith by your works".

    God Bless! :wavey:

Are you positive that the man who owns the gas station you buy gas at is pro-life? How about the cooks or waitresses in the restaurants you frequent? You better check. After all, you said, "EVERYTHING," right?

I don't see where civil unions have anything to do with religious dogma. They are a legal contract, nothing more, and have nothing to do with a religious body.

I do not know what verse(s) Senator Obama may be referring to and really don't see any reason for him to have referenced The Scriptures with regards to civil unions.

The granting of "civil unions" to homosexuals is just another attempt to rationalize and validate their conduct. We must never yield to this because we know from God's word that such conduct is wrong and we know that one step forward always leads to yet another. Giving official recognition to it by acts of law would be a bad mistake. Persons that don't understand this and can't stand firmly and clearly against it should never be chosen as our leaders. Obama's words are an attempt to rationalize "civil unions" - i.e. homoexual conduct - by making it seem that God's word in Romans is, as he put it, "obscure", and should be discounted in favor of a more general but unclarified perspect implied by reference to the sermon on the mount.

I have not asked the man at the gas station to REPRESENT me in government, REPRESENTATION means the man's views agree with my views and I believe he will carry out my views in his votes.

God sent the Israelites to buy grain from pagan Egypt. Jesus sent His disciples to buy food at the market, I don't recall Him telling them to buy from believers only. God allows the sun and rain to fall on both the good and the wicked does He not?

REPRESENTATION is the issue ! God does say do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. Supporting someone with your vote is as yoked up as any marriage, even more binding, you are allowed a divorce from marriage anytime but are stuck with your representative for a minimum 4 years.

    Good one Ken

You can look up God's word on showing your faith by thy works, something you say you are not obligated to do, in James 2. God's word, not mine!

The Scripture you quoted says nothing about "representation," and you said in "everything" which would go beyond politics.

So, do you feel good about buying food, or other items from someone who might take that money while supporting abortion? Do you grill everyone at every store you deal with about this issue like you do here?

I have read and reread the Sermon on the Mount the last few days and I can´t figure it out either. I am just wondering why nobody has called him on it. He must have been banking on the fact that the media would just take his word it was in there some place.

Oh boy, tell me what the passage is reffering to.

    Yes, EVERYTHING!

I do not feel bad nor do I find any scripture which teaches me to buy only from non-sinners. If there is such a scripture then we must all starve or grow our own food.

No. I do grill everyone who openly tells me they are Christian and pro-murder or supporting representatives who are.

I don't ask the gas station man if he is Christian or pro-murder before I buy from him because scripture does not require it of me to ask everyone what their sins are before I purchase something from them.

Scripture does tell me to not be unequally yoked with unbelievers as well as have nothing to do with the unfruitful WORKS of darkness.

The only way I could be in violation of this command is if I somehow participated in the act of another's sin or my own and willfully supported sin in ANY way shape or form.

Buying gas is not participating in sin. Fellowship with another is not participating in sin. Doing what the other is doing, if sin, is participating. Helping another sin is participating. Giving another some money knowingly to help carry out sin is participating in sin. Knowingly sending another to go lead the country into sin is participating in sin.

Buying a man's gas, even if he is an atheist, is not a sin. God loves him and feeds him and shelters him with the money he receives from selling his gas. Will I buy his porn? No. That would be something to do with the unfruitful WORKS of darkness.

You have the Spirit of Christ. Why wrestle with the obvious truth. Voting for a KNOWN, openly pro-murder, kill them anyway you want, all day long, candidate who DECLARES it will continue as long as he has anything to say about it,

    IS SUPPORTING THE SIN!!!

The man just doesn't have his own opinion. The man gets to REPRESENT ALL THOSE WHO SUPPORTED him (as well as those who didn't) and those who SUPPORT the man KNOWS FULL WELL that this man will seal the fate and the slaughter of many, many, many more innocent children.

Yet, you here nothing but appathy. People more concerned about SELF. Guised as we need to help those who are alive and living in this country. Really? At the cost of slaughtering children?

Every single person who has ever ran for President WANTS TO HELP EVERYONE LIVING IN THIS COUNTRY! So this argument is mute.

Every person who has ever ran for President HATES WAR! Mute again.

Every person who ever ran for President KNOWS there will be times when a free country MUST FIGHT TO STAY FREE! Mute again.

Every person who has ever ran for President KNOWS there will be times when the enemy MUST BE SOUGHT OUT AND DESTROYED BEFORE THEY DESTROY US! Mute again.

Do you really believe Obama or Hillary is going to end war? This is fairytales! It is a sound bite and the people are falling for it. Remember when the democrats were going to end the war and got the people all fired up and took over the house of representatives? WHAT HAPPENED?

    ANSWER.....They refused to stop it!!!!!!!

Obama and Hillary have the kool-aid drinkers locked up. You think they will end war? Drink up!

    God bless! :praying:

Obama actually said, "As your President, I will use the bully pulpit to urge states to treat same-sex couples with full equality in their family and adoption laws."

This is somewhat different than dedicating the presidency to this issue.

This Catholic news site is somewhat over-dramatic.

It's probably because Obama's implication conveys what a lot of people think - want to believe - is okay with God. There's no point in reading His word if it doesn't really mean anything to ones decision making process unless, of course, it's to "prove" a point by twisting what it states into something entirely different. No doubt this is what we all do at various times in our struggle with our sinful nature. We want to rationalize what we know is wrong.

I pray God will be merciful to our nation for the sake of us all and especially our decendants who will bear the burden of our foolish decisions. I pray He will somehow bring us closer to moral awareness and actions - even in our civil laws - consistent with His word and that He will silence the voices of those who seek to drive us further to Satan's pleasure.
