Thousands of religious leaders got a call from on high Wednesday as President Obama reached out to Jewish and Christian clergy, asking some to sermonize in favor of health care reform.

If President Obama has his way, you'll soon be hearing about his health care package when you go to your church or synagogue to pray.

Thousands of religious leaders got a call from on high Wednesday when Obama reached out to Jewish and Christian clergy, urging them to push health care reform from the pulpit.

Obama spoke to about 140,000 people of faith in a conference call and webcast Wednesday evening. He and a White House official discussed the moral dimension of health care, telling the mostly Christian audience that "this debate over health care goes to the heart of who we are as a people."

But earlier that day, Obama went much further, asking about 1,000 rabbis to preach his political agenda in their sermons on Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year -- one of the holiest days of the year.

The conversation was supposed to be off the record but was captured on the Twitter feeds and blogs of some rabbis who took part in the call, which was organized by the Union of Reform Judaism and included rabbis from other denominations.

"I am going to need your help in accomplishing necessary reform," Obama said, according to Rabbi Jack Moline of Virginia, whose Twitter feed has since been scrubbed of the information.

Obama told the rabbis that "we are God's partners in matters of life and death" and asked them to "tell the stories of health care dilemmas to illustrate what is a stake" in their sermons, Moline wrote.

Please note the moral generosity of Obama the baby killer shown in the following site.

For Obama the baby killer to state "we are God's partners in matters of life and death" is the most hypocritical statement I have ever heard. It vividly demonstrates the moral degeneracy of this person.

So give me credit, I completely agree with you. This freak's message would not make it through the front door of our church. The President is not liked here. He got 34 percent of the vote in the last election. This man's evil has no depths. I can remember as a young person saying, there will never be a worse President than LBJ, then came Carter, then Clinton, then Bush, now this.

Interesting question, will we ever see a worse President than Obama?

but this does not include the matters of life and death when it comes to murdering children, or saying homosexuality isn't immoral. sounds quite a bit hypocritical.

Probably not. At least now we know what it would have looked like if Jimmy Carter got re-elected. :wavey:

But OR, actually he spoke the truth.

Partner:One associated with another especially in an action (Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary http://www.merriam-webster.com ).

Sometimes God will make the life-death decision, sometimes the government.

Only one problem with associating the word "partner" in conjunction with Obama and God. God does NOT partner with evil.

Yes Hank! But that does not make God Obama's partner!

I wonder if we don't have the moral responsibinlty not to muder babies with scissors. No one who in anyway supports this evil act can make a claim to any morality remotely similar to scripture.

Would you please post the book, chapter and verse? I seem to be having trouble finding where God did evil, not only by Himself, or with a human's help.

Please, no one is impuning God.

He has the right to destroy His own creation.
He both gives and takes life.
    It is His perogative.
He does it as a response to evil.

    Remember the flood of Noah?

It seems that the Supreme Court has decided to take that perogative upon themselves (Roe v. Wade,1973).

The present administration is officially in agreement with that decision.

OK Nonsequiter, I see your point but IMO I believe that RS meant that God used Nebuchadnezzar as the vessel of retribution for the evils committed by Israel.

God brings/allows "evil" (Calamity, destruction and even death) upon those who rebel against Him and His natural and spiritual laws, sometimes He uses human instruments.

In the case of abortion, the lives of the innocent and helpless are being taken and sometimes simply for convenience sake and often times in cruel and gruesome ways.
