Obama Healthcare Reform Bill is a Mammoth Job Killer
    By Ron Bonjean

What are the top three priorities of any Democratic or Republican White House if they are faced with skyrocketing unemployment and billions of dollars spent on extended unemployment benefits?

The answer of course is creating the right economic conditions to grow jobs, jobs, and more jobs. But the Democratic leadership believes in a very different course of action. Their solution is to spend most of their time on attempting to pass a $1 trillion healthcare bill and claim that it will create more jobs.

Speaker Pelosi says a report by the Center for American Progress estimates that the Democrats’ healthcare bill would create 250,000 to 400,000 jobs per year over 10 years.

However, a new study released by Americans for Tax Reform reports the exact opposite will happen. Using the center’s own methodology, it finds that the healthcare bill proposed by Democrats would destroy a total of 120,000 to 700,000 jobs by 2019.

And the Heritage Foundation recently released its own analysis that the healthcare bill will lead to an estimated 690,000 lost job opportunities per year.

How many of you would start a new business next year if SS and Medicare were scratched this year?

    Obama's job killer energy policy

Chett Chiasson, the executive director of Port Fourchon in Louisiana, has a message for President Obama — and any Americans who have applauded the administration’s decision to halt deep-water drilling in the Gulf of Mexico: You just don’t get it.

“I don’t know that this country realizes the cascading impacts of this moratorium,” said Mr. Chiasson, whose estimates that his port handles 90 percent of the traffic servicing the deep-water oil and gas industry in the gulf. “It’s going to have an impact for years to come.”

Obama is more worried about criticism from his greenie base than he is about real workers. There is no reason why they can't do the study at the same time work goes forward on other drilling. It is not like those companies are looking for an opportunity to screw up and have to pay billions in clean up cost. The assumptions of the President and his anti energy supporters are just off base.

We don't need deep water drilling. Shallow water drilling would be nice. On the other hand, US oil would be much more valuable if we burned the Arab oil first.

An admission the legislation is a job killer. Question: What happens to those highly trained workers after 3 years? New career field with lower pay or permanent unemployment.
