    And just who would you have pay the insurance premiums ? Oh yeah, the rich, right ? Do you have any idea what insurance companies would charge for this ? And the potential for corruption between government & lobbyists this would create ?

    I guess there is nothing too low for some, including Obama.

    I hope there is an uprising.

    I see this as an attempt to destroy our military.

    Obama is a complete moron.

    It didn't take long for a liberal's distaste for all things military to surface.

    He sends a really great message to our troops engaged in battle. Don't get wounded or crippled guys. The government will abandon you if you do.

    This guy doen't have a clue. Never in my life have I seen a president run willy nilly from one thing to another and make all the wrong moves when he does.

    Liberals shoulkd be proud. They've elected the dumbest most foolhardy socialist ideologue they could possibly find.

    Even I didn't think he was this stupid. :tonofbricks:

    It doesn't say Obama will charge wounded soldiers, it says Obama will charge the wounded soldiers insurance company. I take this to mean they will receive service as usual but if they so happen to have other private insurance, the government will submit a claim like any regular doctor would. What is there to be outraged about?

    To not take care of Vets.. shows his disdain for the military.

    I agree the guy who wrote the article is from the right but if you read what he says about the actual plan you will see he is twisting facts. All it says is IF they have insurance, the VA will be reimbursed by their private insurer. You guys keep asking how he's going to pay for all this then when he submits a plan to get money for the tax payers you object to that... No making you guys happy is there...

    It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out this undermines our volunteer military. And, it is my knee-jerk reaction to a particularly assinine comment on this thread.

    Not only is this a slap in the face to our wounded warriers, there are so many ramifications I don't have time to go into right now, but it doesn't take a great Einstein to figure out what devastation will be wreaked on the morale of our military not to mention our economy....

    I didn't see a by line on the Yahoo news piece. So maybe you didn't read it. I did read that the head of the American Legion is angry and rightfully so. Did you read that? No doubt your defense of this president blurred your vision so you didn't read the news article clearly. It wasn't an op ed.

    No, the government in this case. I thought the idea was to transition to private insurance and away from the government. Does anybody here recognize how wasteful the Veteran's Administration is?

    Perhaps the head of the American Legion is also from the right so is reacting to the twisted facts being spread instead of what Obama is proposing.

    This is the first paragraph, it clearly says they will require private insurance carriers to reimburse the Department of Veterans Affairs. That is no where close to charging veterans for treatment.

    I told you, you guys twist the facts so much you don't recognize the truth when you see it.

    If you as a worker gets injured on the job, who is responsible for your medical care; your private insurance or your employers workman's compensation insurance?

    Our valiant warriors need to be taken care of, with the care being paid for by the American people. The government has no right to have a warrior's private insurance pay for injuries incurred while protecting and defending our Constitution.

    I hope Obama FAILS!

    I dont get it.

    How many soldiers actually have private insurance? That doesnt make sense to me.

    Also. if they did have private insurance, the only way an insurance claim can be filed is if the insured person is billed for services......so Lebuick, your argument that they are charging the Insurance company but not the soldier doesnt hold water....the soldier has to be billed before a claim can be filed.
